I know a couple posters will be really upset to see this...

This made me take a look back at the Pittsburgh game in 2022. I had the game log pulled up. My summary for that game is actually inaccurate. What an agitating game that was. Here's a better summary within five minutes...

  1. Bengals drive down to the two and go for it on 4th. Burrow misses Chase.
  2. Defense gets a stop.
  3. Burrow drives 60 yards for the go ahead touchdown but the extra point is blocked. 20-20. Overtime.
  4. Defense gets a stop.
  5. Burrow leads the offense 64 yards to the Pittsburgh 11. McPherson comes out for a 29 yard field goal. Missed.
  6. Pittsburgh drives and misses a field goal.
  7. Burrow and offense begin driving again but then the sack fumble. Then Pittsburgh kicks a game winner on the next drive.
I was only looking within two minutes for those initial game summaries as I deemed them "close out" situations. Lots of context can get missed in analysis like this, so charting it out helps. Personally, I am of the opinion that a QB can be clutch in a loss. It is a team game, afterall. In the Mahomes/Allen scenario I would call Allen a highly clutch QB in that game. He did everything he possibly could. In this Pittsburgh game, I would say Burrow was clutch. He put the Bengals in three unique scoring positions, directly scoring on one but special teams failed on two. Just some of my personal thoughts outside of the numbers.

Ditto. No question Joe was clutch in that game.

This is an unforced fumble?

What was Burrow doing? That wasn't a sack fumble..... It was such a bad fumble people couldn't even believe until the replay it was a fumble TD. Unforced as in the play was dead in the water and Burrow should have just ate it but was trying to do too much. Too much when it wasn't even needed at the time.

Put number 14 on him and suddenly you'll see what I'm saying, I'm sure of it.

That was an official sack.

Im not sure if you are competing for the title of least knowledgable poster here or if you are trolling.  It is that bad.

No. None of that makes any sense. You're completely off the reservation there.

Arif Hasan did an article about Clutch QBs this off-season.

Here is his interview with PFF. He talks about the UNLUCKY list at about 27:30 minutes in which Joe Burrow is number #1. Preforms well in Clutch situations but his defense loses games.

Yea yea yea. Call me what you want. You always calling somebody something.

Officially a sack yes cause that attempted scramble didn't even make it back to the LOS, and he should have just went down in stead of fighting for that .5 yard. If it was Dalton.....

But here we are, arguing about a QB fumble td that lost the game in a discussion about the QB being clutch.

Are you trying to help my argument?

There is no overtime missed kick without the INT.

Maybe you don't get how this works.... But the one who resorts to name calling and belittling tends to be the one who lacks knowledge or ability to communicate.

That is one thing we all can agree with. You feeling the need to tell people how smarter you are than everyone and supposedly having inside scoop and relationships with Bengals players screams insecurity to the trained eye. Respectfully.

Im not telling anyone Im smarter than you.  That is obvious.  Everyone, other than Essex, is smarter than you regarding your twisted Burrow slander.

I give zero fcks as to what you think about me, there are posters on this board that I share inside stuff with on PMs, things no one knows and then they come out, and some never do but the effects of them are seen.  Your insecurity screams jealousy to everyone.

That said, it is almost as if you make such awful takes simply to encourage engagement.  FYI, people will still engage with you, without the nonsense. Like I do when you PM me.  Respectfully.

This was a clumsy scramble ending in a Dalton like fumble. That wasn't going nowhere fast and not needed at the time given the score. Live for the next play. Is that in the football for dummies book?

Sorry to be the one that has to always break the bad news.

That is a definition of a "sack".

You do not know what a sack is, you do not know what an unforced fumble is, you do not know what garbage time means, you simply do not know ball.

There are so many knowledgeable posters here, so much good info on X and Youtube.  Maybe educate yourself instead of arguing blatantly wrong BS here?

So, you think an 8 point lead is insurmountable? By a team that never punted all game? By a team that ended up scoring 33 points? Ok.

You do realize that had we recovered the onside kick - which I grant is highly improbably - we probably win that game. But I guess not since you thought the game was over in the 3rd QTR when the Bengals were down by a whopping 8 points. Rolleyes

Yes, and most people without agendas put the blame on that INT on Chase, not Burrow.

Spot on, if anything Burrow has been about as clutch as possible for this team. It has been the Defense that cannot stop other team's Offenses
late and McPherson missing FG's and extra points lately. When we went to the Super Bowl the Defense was clutch and McPherson was clutch.

This needs to happen again and this team could be unstoppable with how well Burrow is playing right now.

Burrow is playing top notch....       Only thing more they can do is longer drives to eat clock...  Sometimes they score very quick which is good but puts the defense right back out there (puts the ball in their hands)

Yea, yea, yea....

What I do know is if this was a Dalton moment in a big game with the lead and we lost....

Doesn't take your superior genius to know rest of that statement.

Folks certainly wouldn't be calling him clutch. Regardless of how the rest of the game prior to that moment meant.

Dalton has been gone since 2020..... Burrow is the #1 QB in the league in right now, but you go ahead and do you....

For sure, winning the TOP sure would be nice and it would help out this D that has been playing poorly lately.

BTW, didn't mean to put the missed FG in OT against the Ravens on McPherson either, it was on Rehkow. If it isn't one thing, it is another.

Rehkow has been a great Punter for us this year too. Just needs to remember that hold forever and never let it happen again.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...

Good Andy, was never as good as Joe Burrow has been this season and I defended Andy a ton back in the day.

Burrow is the opposite of Dalton, he is clutch in the biggest moments. Dalton never was clutch in the biggest moments.

I'm not impressed by any of this. You can be whoever you want to be on a internet message board. If you had it like that you certainly wouldn't be on here all day everyday with us common folk.

People who have to keep telling you how smart they are..... Well folks know the rest.

And sure I've dm'd you. I have most of my conversations on here in dm's with people who aren't willing to face the heat but agree and understand my points. Why you think I'm so "confident in being right" or whatever you stated.

And your obsession with bringing up Essex who likely doesn't pay your superiority complex no attention either is lame, cringe, and creepy.
