Joe Mixon is a stud right now in Houston. He was terrible when he was here. Do the math
Pretty much what I was going to say. We had a very good RB for years. Just no OL and scheme for him here.

I watch Chase B., and the dude goes from 0 to 60 in about 2 seconds. If you can make a hole where he's supposed to go for just an instant, he'll get yards; if you don't, he'll run into the blocker/defender where the hole is supposed to be.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Bengals don't care about fundamental football. If they did care, they would build a team from the inside and then work outward. They waste what little money they have on all flash, because they think that's what puts people in the seats.
Marvin Lewis tried his best to build fundamentally strong football teams in his time with the Bengals. Seems like they just refuse to pay interior OL and Safety premium money, never mind how much value they add by making the team able to function well with average players on the perimeter..
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Repeating myself, but if I was ever given a GM position, I would draft like this pretty much every year.
1st round O-line
2nd round D-line
Next season
1st round D-line
2nd round O-line
Repeat that process until fired or retired. Occasionally pass on that system for a trade up for a superstar when both lines are strong.
Since I'm a fan of the Bengals, it's already built into my DNA to have a young backup plan in place because there are very few long time Cincinnati O-linemen. Hopefully, the backup plan doesn't wind up being an Ogbuehi or a Carman.

These are facts. Interior line is awful. All 3 of them need to be upgraded. I think chase brown could be good. I’m done with Zach moss. He’s there for short yardage and can’t even get 2-3 yards when we need it.

Ask yourself these questions.
Was Moss good last year on the Colts?
Yes he was.
Is Moss good this year?
No
Is Mixon good this year on the Texans?
Yes
Was Mixon good here last year?
No
It isnt just the bad oline. We all know when Zac is going to run the ball, think the defense doesnt? It is bad scouting, bad coaching, bad scheming, bad development, and bad playing. It is bad.

Duke has assembled one of the least athletic OL’s in the league. We can blame Pollack and the RB’s all we want, but he’s the common denominator here.

We need to fix the interior Offensive Line first and foremost. Then you add that special back to the team! Also I like Moss and Brown on this team.

Moss is a career journeyman who fans optimistically declared would be better than Mixon for some unknown reason (I guess being homer fans). Look at Moss' career:
He has a career average of 4.2 ypc and 2300 rushing yards in 4.5 seasons. He is an average back that folks fooled themselves into thinking was anything more.
Last year with indy he had 800 yards, 5 TDs, at 4.3 ypc. That's as average as you'll find for a starting RB.
Last year, Mixon had 1,000 yards, 9 TDs, at 4.0 ypc.
Saying Moss was good and Mixon was bad is just blatantly false. They were essentially the same player.

Mixon was mediocre here Gio has been most talented back we have had in last 15 years. Eagles had 2 backups playing and Barkley still runs effectively. Even a tandem of Ekeler and Perine would be a significant upgrade over what we presently have. Perine made play after play for us with a line worse than this. Kappa needs to go and all just saying a good RB would help.

I never said Mixon is bad and Moss is good. No idea why you would even say that? Are you making something up or do you have me confused with someone else?
Neither are doing well in this offense, both did/are better in other offenses. Not sure how you missed this?
Mixon was not getting yards after contact, Miss did. Mixon didnt have any bursts, Moss did. Mixon couldnt pass block, Moss does.
Ignoring advanced stats and going with the just the basics is laughable.

I am fully behind adding athleticism to the OL and I brought it up before guys like this with their pretty charts lol.... BUT Alabama Guard Tyler Booker will likely be high on their board. Booker next to Mims on the right side could be a massive upgrade to the rush offense.
Tyler Booker and Iowa Center Logan Jones.

I mentioned this in the Draft Section. 2025 RB Class will likely be the deepest position group in the draft so It wouldn't surprise me if the Bengals use a similar strategy as they did with TEs last year. Target two Day 3 prospects and have a four man room in 2025.

why waste draft picks on RBs when it's clearly a personell/scheme issue. Moss was average last year, he is now terrible this year. Mixon was bad last year, and now he's really good this year
look at the difference between saquon with the giants, and now saquon with the eagles.
