Did The FO “luck” into Zac?

And I don’t think we could get into a bidding war with a team who would want a top candidate like BJ.Especially if they want any sort of power. I’d be all for him tho.

Zac worked out great for the gamble. But how much was that luck, Burrow, or was it FO savvy to recognize a coach that could lead them to a SB that no one else saw and hired them?

I just don’t know.

Zac was a serious Cardinals candidate and Denver. He interviewed both places. Denver had a lot of guard rails. He liked the ownership in place at Cincy as did his agent.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

I wanted to sign Henry or Barkley. They aren't that expensive in the grand scheme of things.

Then his judgement is definitely questionable!

One has to wonder what Nick Sirianni could do with a QB who isn't Hurts all the time...

Notice how many of those have won a Super Bowl since 2019?
1...Bruce Arians. And he's now retired.

Looking at that list though, the Bengals could have done A LOT worse than Taylor.
Maybe better with one or two of these guys, but that's it.
Agreed.

If you look at 2019 hirings, the three successful ones are Arians, LaFleur and Zac.

Of those three, Arians and LeFleur had Brady and Rogers (which set up Love).

Of the rest who came into an unsteady QB Team, and had to draft and/or develop one, all are fired.
