Not sure what they’re going to do if All is out for the year though. That TE room will be looking pretty grim. I’d imagine they don’t have much choice other than to activate Tanner McLachlan.

This is why they drafted McLachlan, in my opinion. They knew they were taking a moderate risk in drafting a guy who has already had 2 season ending surgeries in the 4th round, so when they saw value at TE in the 6th, they decided to double dip.

We'll have to see how McLachlan does in the role. I doubt he'll be anywhere near as good of a run blocker, but hopefully he can perform that role well enough to justify not giving Gesicki any run blocking snaps.

For what it's worth, his NFL draft profile does say that he has "Active hand work after contact to extend his block sustain," and he "puts in the work to get backside cut-offs and climb to the linebacker." So that's something :)

Yeah, he's clearly got more in the tank than I thought, which is a nice surprise.

Gesicki getting single coverage or no coverage at all like his one TD then he is the better option in most cases.

The only person on this team that might get double coverage off Chase and Tee is Gesicki. Feed the guy the rock till they stop doubling Chase and Tee then they can really eat, and we can really be a dangerous offense like we should be with these players. Burrow Chase Tee Gesicki.

Burton needs to play I do not care if he kicks Zac's dog right before the game. Zac is the head coach...Zac calls the plays on offense....Zac will have direct influence on who is picked as skill position guys on offense. So, Zac basically drafted Burton he knew he was a headcase now deal with him he deserves 2 or 3 deep targets a game on go routes. He is the 4th best option and can give great production with very few targets that is a weapon we will need.

You cannot play a guy that no call, no shows a Saturday walk through.

Mike G looks like a large WR out there so we will miss Alls blocking ability as an all around option at TE. Maybe Tanner Mac can step in and show us why he was called "Baby Gronk" ?
Any news on All? Im worried hes out for a long stretch or for the yr

All I saw this morning was "feared torn ACL", but I'm not sure how reliable the source was.

Agreed, Gesicki is headed to free agency (I believe) and All, a player with a history of injuries, just suffered a serious injury.

I suppose they could ignore the position in the draft and sign another TE in free agency to continue the rotating door at the position.

It's going to be a long time before another ball is thrown his way unless Browning is in. He's got a lot of nerve thinking he is going to sit next to Burrow anyway. Even Chase rarely sits with him during games.

I seen him sit right next to Burrow earlier this season while using a tablet he was not even getting snaps then.

Everyone got a hard look from Burrow today he was not a happy camper.

I hope they bring Hilton back.  He was undrafted coming out I believe, and that dude is great Nickle/slot.  I hope the FO do not let him walk too.  It would make me sick.

I thought I imagined that thanks! Joe even sat back down after Burton got up and left.

Seems to have filled a void.

He is no Travis Kelce but seems to be doing decently.

Still an ALL Jr fan but Gesicki has some hands for sure and makes for a large target.

At this stage of his career he is better than All or Sample....The Ravens up next and they over play the run so much, they are suckers for the TE pass.  We saw that our Super Bowl year. ...Gesicki is very good and could be a big play maker against Ravens.

I think Mike is just getting warmed up.
Kelce seems to have a supernatural ability to get open, combined with a QB with whom he has great chemistry, and a coach that is the best in the business.
Mike has better pass catching tools than Kelce, a great QB that he is developing a chemistry with. He probably won’t reach Kelces knack for getting open, but does he have to in order to contribute as much to this team as Kelce does for the Chiefs?

Nice thread Whacked. Agree, Gesicki actually is a good WR for us when Tee is hurt. Really helping out in the passing game. Really like Mike.

Expecting Gesicki to just get better as the year goes on gaining chemistry with Burrow.

And keeping Hudson was very good move,  he played very well last season when given reps, actually graded out well in run blocking... McLachlan hoping can fill in some also..

I liked Hudson before the bad fumble agree. McLachlan I thought was more pro ready than All but then All played and played very well and
McLachlan was the hurt dude on IR and the PS. I like McLachlan's film a ton, very good pass catcher and (can block unlike Hudson).

A few games maybe, but he also has been the most productive receiver some games.
Gesicki has 3 games of 70+ yards through 9 games.

There have been games where Chase has had little production too.
It happens.
But can they have occasional games where they really put on a show? That's an impactful player.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

That's better than both CJ and Hurst recently. Though CJ did have 5 TDs at this point.

thats because the 21 and 22 teams had better depth. If Tee missed multiple games, Boyd was there along with Chase. Also Mixon and Perine were good receivers

I swear im not trying to take away from Gesicki's year
