Leading by 14 points in the 3rd quarter. Crowd out of it. Ravens offense not playing good.
Bengals have the Ball.
Brown fumbles...and that was it. Flood gates opened.
Quick Ravens TD. 84 yard TD that should have been like a 20 yard completion.
Then, there were Ravens WR's wide open. A bunch of blown coverages.
When I say mentally weak, it's mainly the defense. But, it's largely the whole team outside of Burrow/Chase/Trey and maybe 1 or 2 others.
When you start blowing leads like this more than occasionally...it's time to switch coaching staffs. Need a new voice. Do you think we would have blew this lead with Dan Campbell as our coach? He would have been fiery on the sideline after the Brown fumble and held the team together.
We should have beat the Ravens twice and the Chiefs. Instead of 4-6, we should be 7-3. And the Patriots loss too...Could be an 8-2 team with better leadership.

I hate to say this, but this was a 90's/early 2000's pre-Marvin loss. No matter what lead we had, I always figured we'd lose.

It is disappointing as under Zac they used to never lose when ahead after the half or in the 4th quarter.....

I think when they had Burrow on a rookie deal, and 2 rookie WR's...that made the offense great.
On defense, we had Bates on a rookie deal who is a top safety, Reader who was a top DT, Chide played like a top 20 CB. Bell played well with Bates.
ie...I don't think we ever had great coaches. I think our roster was so talented that it covered it up.
Like last night, Burrow and Chase still almost won this game. And yes...the Bengals are playing hardball with Chase on a contract.
Take Burrow and Chase off this team, and we're 3-14 or 4-13.

3-14 / 4-13 is being generous.

That's the caliber of this staff with a replacement level player at QB.
Burrow would be getting MVP consideration if we had 3 more wins right now.
Literally, they are getting MVP level play from the QB and can't beat more than the worst teams.

Agree with this. If Burrow and Chase aren't on the team... who the heck would we actually beat? No defence whatsoever. While I like Chase Brown, we don't really have a run game that requires a defence to gameplan against.
I know every team would be weaker without a star QB and star WR, but this team literally has nothing else.
Probably a 1-16 team without these two on the field.

4 things I said the Bengals needed to do to win the game
Run the ball - didn’t happen
Stop the run - did happen
Don’t give Jackson all day in the pocket - did happen
Don’t turn the ball over - did happen
They failed on 3 out of 4, and that’s why they lost

Brown is a change of pace back on most teams in the league and not starter. Same with Moss. We see that Herbert got no snaps in Chicago.
And our WR's, Chase is amazing. The other guys would get no snaps on most teams. (Not including Tee. He's a starter.)

I forget what Ravens player ran for that long touchdown..3 Bengals players had the opportunity to tackle him or push him out of bounds and could not do so...just terrible..

Well it appeared that 2 thought Wilson was going to push him out of bounds so the slowed up just enough to mess up their angles.

sadly I think the mindset ..aside from Buroow and Chase..is that of most players on the team..and that's unfortunate

I think the front office just ****** everything up. Surprise!!! Talent only takes you so far ....I think most of the coaches are good enough, certainly not legends, but good enough. Some position coaches may need evaluated, but Duke Tobin, his overhead projector and two scouts have handed them a lot of chicken shit the last few years and asked them to make chicken salad. They did the same thing at the end of Marvin's tenure.

Wilson was one of the ones with that slowed up....it was a DB that missed the initial shove/tackle. I don't remember who. Wilson and Stone were the ones with the bad angles.

That part about the coaches I totally agree with. These guys may be too calm. That said, Hairball made a lot of bad decisions last night too.

Bengal mental weakness starts at the top and is passed down. It’s like catching a cold, everyone gets it

At this point, Burrow and Chase are the team.
Burrow...who knows how long his career will be with the injuries...so you have to maximize him on this contract he's on.
Chase? Probably have 3-4-5 years of elite play after this season. I doubt the physical things he do continue to an elite level into his 30's...
So you have to maximize the roster and coaches over this next 5 year span.
We're really far from that.

You could make that argument with any team. What do you think the Chiefs would be without Mahomes and Jones?

Nobody can convince me that IF they converted the two point conversion or kicked the XP that Lamar wouldn’t have marched down in like two plays and got into field goal range anyway.
Why? Mentally weak.

Yep. I disagree with the 2 point call, but people are making some insane assumptions in saying that we should've kicked the XP and trusted the Coin Flip. Have people been watching this defence? It was quite likely the Ravens win in regulation regardless of what we did there.
