I would have figured it was Gesicki.

A guy with 2 TD’s all season? Either way, you only go for 2 right there if you have a play you feel GREAT about. And that means Chase.

Sure handed, big target. But yeah, I'd like to see Chase the number 1. Just when I saw the alignment and the release, I figured 88 was the read. He'd never make it because he was mauled, but I just assumed that.

It reminds me of the Super Bowl loss against the Rams where they relied on their stars like Kupp and Donald to win the game.

And here we are with our season on the line and hinging on one play and we go to Tanner Hudson.

Overthinking it in my opinion. "They'll never see this coming"..... well, they did, lol. I'd have felt better maybe if it was All, and maybe that was his play, but All wasn't out there. Don't go Hudson, even if he did score earlier.

I don't have a problem with going to Hudson. You have to figure the Ravens thought it was going to Chase or Gesicki. Hudson is pretty sure handed when he's not getting mauled.

I’d have kicked it. 38 seconds is 38 seconds. Lots of other ways to gamble. With Tee I go for 2. But 39 seconds even with Tucker is not easy.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Ofc you don’t.

Most people do. He’s a career practice squad player with 2 career TD’s.

Some of the play calling was terrible. They gave Baltimore the ball at 37 yard line, because they threw deep twice on 3rd and 4th down and 2, instead of getting the 1st down.

Yo can’t tell me they don’t have a better 2 point play then what we saw.

Burrow getting beaten up like a rag doll, and doesn’t get the flags, that Mahomes gets. I saw a couple of late hits, face mask, DPI, that are never called in our favor. The NFL has turned into the haves and have nots, when it comes to getting penalties in your favor.

I think my biggest problem with the 2pt try is that they let the playclock go all the way down and then took the timeout. I am firmly a believer in that if you go for 2, you are best off doing it up-tempo after the TD you got. The defense is reeling from giving up a TD, guys might be looking at who-let-who-get-open and thinking about the last play, and you are just immediately ready to take advantage of them reeling to get a quick conversion.

Between the playclock after the TD, the timeout, and then the playclock after the timeout, you're giving the defense over a full minute to catch their breath and collect themselves for the task at hand.

It's a bit like how the best time to try to take a deep shot is right after a turnover when the defense has to run on the field when they thought they were taking a break still, and might not be fully mentally checked in yet.

I don't want Zac to be the HC here anymore, but I can't put last night's loss entirely on him.  These players are doing just enough to shoot themselves in the feet, and I think that's putting more pressure on Zac to be a quality of coach that he's simply not.

Chase Brown fumble.
Three defenders missing a sideline tackle resulting in an 80-yard TD.
Lamar having a pocket and open running lanes all game long.
Back-to-back fade routes on 3rd & 2 and 4th & 2.
A 2-point conversion attempt with Tanner Hudson as the first read.

To be clear, Burrow played about as great of a game as you could ask for.  But when you're not checking out of fade routes on 3rd and short and 4th and short, I have questions.  You have two downs to get two yards.  What the **** are we doing?
Everything in this post is my fault.

Death by 1000 papercuts. Zac just isn't a good playcaller. Burrow and Chase making amazing plays is the only thing this offense does right.

The team folded after the Brown fumble. That's a leadership issue.

The defense was playing well up until the point of the Brown fumble. After that fumble, it imploded.

What I ask you is: IF Dan Campbell were the HC of the Bengals and they were winning 21-7 in the 3rd quarter, do you think the team gives up 28 additional points?

And has been for years. As fantastic as a guy like Penei Sewell is, we probably never even sniff the Super Bowl or AFC Championship games without Chase.

Im ok with going for 2 there.  Go for the W in regulation because as soon as Lamra gets it in OT, its almost a foregone conclusion they score again.  4 straight TD's prior to that shows that is the likely result

And the Bengals are playing hardball with him on a contract.

Yep.  I don't hate the decision to go for 2.  I hate the decision to call any play that doesn't have Chase as the first read.

Tanner played OK yesterday.  He absolutely should not be the guy on a game-decided play.  Sorry.
Everything in this post is my fault.

Just stinks... we all know the Bengals are gonna half ass the off-season because of the Ja'Marr Chase massive deal and not wanting to ruin the 2026 3rd round comp pick for Tee Higgins.
