Bengals at Chargers Sunday Night Football
#1
Chargers have a good Defense and at home, so a good hard team.

Burrow and Herbert meet again.

TV games Sunday show Bengals still in The Hunt on play-offs.   A win over Chargers gets Bengals to 5-6 on the season and a win over an AFC team also in The Hunt.

I still say if Bengals can play like they did against Ravens twice, and Chiefs, the Bengals can still win 10 games or more.  The only team that dominated Bengals was the Eagles.

GO BENGALS, beat Chargers on Sunday Night Football in LA.  Get to 5-6 and in position to make a run the last 6 games.

Chargers fan here:

This is a rebuild year where good coaching is making sure they beat the teams they should.  We will find out if they can beat better teams in the next 4 games(Bengals, Ravens, Falcons, Chiefs)

The defense has performed well but here is some context

Qbs faced this year:
Minshew
Bryce Young
Fields
Mahomes(Ray Rice got hurt on first offensive possession and it was Kareem Hunts first game back)
Bo Nix
Kyler Murray
Spencer Rattler
Jamis
Will Levis

The Chargers are currently starting two rookie CBs, both 5th rounders.  They have performed pretty well but with the QBs they've faced its hard to say if they are that good yet.
Joey Bosa is injured and on a limited snap count.  Mack injured his groin at the end of the Browns game and played only the first quarter yesterday.  Even when they were both healthy the pass rush has been below average this year.

The Bengals should have no trouble scoring 28.

Offensively the Chargers have struggled to score.  The WRs get little to no separation.  Rookie McConkey probably separates the best but teams have started to double him. It's so bad that fans all have their hope tied to DJ Chark who was a free agent this year coming off IR.  He was active yesterday but had zero snaps.
The run game has not been good either.  The numbers look better than it is because Dobbins busted a few long ones late in games.  Gus Edwards was brought in and was bad early in the season.   He was put on IR and came back yesterday.  He did look much better so perhaps the Chargers will run at will on the Bengals' weaker run D.

Herbert was hurt in the Tennesee game but seems to have recovered and is running more.  He has to play perfect for the Chargers to win, which has been the case since he entered the league.

My guess would be the Bengals win 28-24

Gotta have it.

But with this defense, man, Dobbins and Herbert might go off.

Defense is capable of giving up 5- straight possessions of TDs. Hope not, but we'll see.

Cut the guy some slack, he hasn’t played in the league in over a decade! Praying for a speedy recovery

Only saw part of the Chargers-Titans game yesterday, but when I did it seemed Herbert had a nice, clean pocket with plenty of time to throw. There were times he stood there  surveying the field with absolutely no pressure, and I see from the stats he wasn't sacked all day. Burrow will be so jealous if he sees this next Sunday.

On the other hand, I see the Chargers sacked Will Levis 7 times!

The interior o-line is really bad.  The center has been rated dead last all year in most metrics and the left guard(a 1st round pick) has been awful vs stunts..  Herbert pressured at worst 3 teams all year and his ankle injury prevented him from getting away from that pressure in a lot of games.  He's back to himself now so his ability to move and then run mitigates some of that pressure.  Hendrickson vs Slater should be a good matchup.

Thanks for the insight BigBad. I like hearing from fans of other teams especially when I haven't been able to watch their team much.

The Chargers have a good Defense, but right now Burrow and Chase are on fire along with our TE's. We are getting better at stopping
the run than we were early on except when playing psycho running QB's like Lamar and Jayden Daniels. Our young DT's are getting
better. We need a pass rush besides Trey Hendrickson to step up on Defense. Think this will be another high scoring game, but a fun
one to watch....

Bengals - 35
Chargers -31

They have a tough mentality. They also like to dominate the trenches.

ya know, everything the bengals don’t do

Typical Harbaugh type team. That's a huge advantage over the soft, pussycat Bengals.

I felt better about the Chargers game before Burrow got murdered and the Chargers had a 7 sack game.

Chargers have the lowest PPG allowed this season at just 13.1.

Chargers - 27
Bengals - 17
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

If after we have a mini bye where we get our injured guys back and we only score 17 the season is definitely over...

As BigBad said, they haven't played an Offense like ours yet where Burrow and Chase are on fire and Herbert is not a running QB like Lamar.

One thing i believe you missed that separate Chargers from Bengals is time of position on drives and lack of turnovers by Chargers, they lead the league
