That was (another) reason why I hated the pick. Not just because it was a big swing. But even if it connected, it was a wash. It presupposes letting Tee walk. Yes, I know we could have saved some $$ and spent it elsewhere.
But we could have just taken McMillan and replaced Boyd.
Anyway, for me, I don't cut him. I try to work with him and see if he can mature. As long as he is a knucklehead and not a cancer, anyway. But he is WR6. Chuck Sizzle (if healthy) and Williams should start getting his snaps. And I certainly think about a slot receiver or TE in the draft. And I'd be more inclined to pay Gesicki to be the #3 receiving option.
I hope he isn't a washout but I start planning like he is. 1 more year of knuckleheadedness and he IS gone.
I think for the Bengals to make the right decision on cutting him or risking another season, is that they need to ask if Burton actually cares about playing the game. Like on a scale of 1-10, what is his 'passion to play' score, with 10 being Tom Brady level. I am guessing based on what little we know, that his score is probably pretty low as to what is needed for the NFL. He just comes across as someone whose physical talents carried him into college, and then somehow got him drafted while doing the minimum. Of course that is just my speculation from observation, but until shown otherwise, that's my current impression of him.

Jordan palmer knows nothing about burton..he knows nothing about organization attempts to help burton... the issue has nothing to do with quarterbacking

If you are interested Palmer runs tons of spring and summer camps across the country. They are 3 days at about $3,500 a day.
When jordan palmer becomes a guru on relarionships betwen players like burton and the bengals..let me know..should the issue be burrow and throwing mechanics etc...i would be interested..burtons issues have nothing to do with the physical ability needed to play in the nfl..nor gi I care about jordan paakmers stance on irganizations and players

I don't think Palmer has made a statement regarding Burton. Your post I replied to was a general statement ending with a comment about him being a terrible quarterback. So I addressed that agreeing he was a bad quarterback but as stated is highly respected at what he does now. As to Jordan's comment Synric mentioned, I think in many cases these are not people calling up media outlets and saying things out of the blue just to be heard. They are often comments and opinions made as part of an interview of some type, a reply to a question and such. So I don't think it is like Jordan is running around offering up comments on various organizations just to stay relevant as you say. He is already very relevant in his current position and I think many in the NFL would agree with that.

And I think many in the NFL think outside coaching is an expensive rip off...but my opinion is just as valid as yours...but anyway i wish you a great new year..a safe one..me and the boys are doing our early january golf and Pappy..

Sequence of events:
The guy above brought up Willie (along with TJ), so I weighed in on an ex-Bengal whose opinion I actually still trust.
You then proceeded to “LaUgH oUT loUD jORdAn pALmER sUCked!”
Which I said was weird given his standing around the league. That’s it. That’s all that happened. There was no “ad hominem attack” or whatever.

Not even close......
percentage of nfl players with college degrees - Google Search
Quote:According to available data, approximately 41% of NFL players graduate from college.
NFL Graduation Rate is higher than any other sports
Quote:The most recent statistics available indicate that more than 40% of NFL players hold college degrees. Compared to other professional sports leagues, this rate is much higher than those of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Hockey League (NHL), which each had rates of 21% and 20%, respectively.
And many of those that got degrees got them in Phys Ed programs and were passed simply to retain NCAA eligibility. If you don't want to believe that after listening to some of them speak, then I can't help you.

Sure he does, that's why he advised Browning to go see Jordan Palmer to get his footwork fixed...

Why would he do that? According to the self appointed board guru on Golf, and Pappy, Jordan Palmer is a terrible QB.

The coaching ranks are filled with bad NFL or college players who are great teachers or coaches. JP was not a good NFL QB, ZT was an average college QB, Campbell was an average NFL TE, but very good HC.
Terrible is harsh, any player who makes an NFL roster is far from terrible. The NFL is an elite group of very talented football players.
2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Just checking in..damn cold..even the Pappy does not help...jordan palmer did not have the talent to play in the nfl and the only reason he was on the bengals was because of his brothe...if I rember correctly he threw 5-6 passes tital in his illustrious career

As usual you would be absolutely wrong.
Hell this season Chase Brown and Andrei Isovias credit their development to their new personal WR Coach Drew Lieberman. Orlando Brown credited his personal OL coach with his new pass blocking techniques this season (can't remember the guys name). Most NFL Players have personal coaches for the off-season because they aren't allowed to work with the teams coaches because of CBA.

I like Golf and Bourbon well enough, did you ever consider that Carson may have wanted Jordan close by for advisory purposes?

Good call on Chase Brown. He has really added another dimension to his game now that he’s a threat as a pass catcher.
