That was (another) reason why I hated the pick. Not just because it was a big swing. But even if it connected, it was a wash. It presupposes letting Tee walk. Yes, I know we could have saved some $$ and spent it elsewhere. 

But we could have just taken McMillan and replaced Boyd. 

Anyway, for me, I don't cut him. I try to work with him and see if he can mature. As long as he is a knucklehead and not a cancer, anyway. But he is WR6. Chuck Sizzle (if healthy) and Williams should start getting his snaps. And I certainly think about a slot receiver or TE in the draft. And I'd be more inclined to pay Gesicki to be the #3 receiving option.

I hope he isn't a washout but I start planning like he is. 1 more year of knuckleheadedness and he IS gone.

I think for the Bengals to make the right decision on cutting him or risking another season, is that they need to ask if Burton actually cares about playing the game. Like on a scale of 1-10, what is his 'passion to play' score, with 10 being Tom Brady level. I am guessing based on what little we know, that his score is probably pretty low as to what is needed for the NFL. He just comes across as someone whose physical talents carried him into college, and then somehow got him drafted while doing the minimum. Of course that is just my speculation from observation, but until shown otherwise, that's my current impression of him.

I don't think Palmer has made a statement regarding Burton.  Your post I replied to was a general statement ending with a comment about him being a terrible quarterback.  So I addressed that agreeing he was a bad quarterback but as stated is highly respected at what he does now.  As to Jordan's comment Synric mentioned, I think in many cases these are not people calling up media outlets and saying things out of the blue just to be heard.  They are often comments and opinions made as part of an interview of some type, a reply to a question and such.  So I don't think it is like Jordan is running around offering up comments on various organizations just to stay relevant as you say.  He is already very relevant in his current position and I think many in the NFL would agree with that.

The coaching ranks are filled with bad NFL or college players who are great teachers or coaches. JP was not a good NFL QB, ZT was an average college QB, Campbell was an average NFL TE, but very good HC.

Terrible is harsh, any player who makes an NFL roster is far from terrible. The NFL is an elite group of very talented football players.

 Hell this season Chase Brown and Andrei Isovias credit their development to their new personal WR Coach Drew Lieberman. Orlando Brown credited his personal OL coach with his new pass blocking techniques this season (can't remember the guys name). Most NFL Players have personal coaches for the off-season because they aren't allowed to work with the teams coaches because of CBA.

Good call on Chase Brown. He has really added another dimension to his game now that he’s a threat as a pass catcher.
