New DC hired?
Irish just forced a turnover. Maybe they can at least keep it respectable.

I like Al Golden, and I think he has the potential to be a good DC in the NFL. But I do find it tiresome that we can only hire people that Zac Taylor already personally knows or who has a significant tie to someone he already knows.

You act like this is unusual. Every team does similar things in some fashion or another

ND was 9th in yards and second in points coming into the National Championship game. Watch Joe Goodberry video on him & Patrick Graham coaching style.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Primarily zone coverage. You can run any of them. Cover 2/3/4. When you run press man, the idea is that you are bringing pressure. However, if your defensive line is inconsistent and you don’t have linebackers that can win, either, then you are putting an immense amount of pressure on your secondary. They have their backs turned, they are on an island, and the offense has all kinds of picks and rubs they can run.

There’s a good reason that the vast majority of NFL teams run primarily zone coverage. It’s talent. If you have a secondary full of doods, then cover 1 is probably the best coverage in football. That isn’t for Cincinnati, though.

In reality Ohio state are a different class no shame if ND get 50 hung up on em.

I’m liking what I see from his blitz packages but the coverage could be a bit tighter.

You must understand this is most likely the first UND game some have watched this year.

It's like someone evaluating Johnson or Glenn after only watching this week's Commanders game.

Dumb question on my part.

Isn't like 70% of the time teams run zone coverage around the league?

OSU is healthy and ND is not so big edge for OSU. I give coaching HC edge to ND Freeman.

They play the games for a reason, the talk ends once the game begins.

It is showing. Ohio State has better players.

It’s something like that. The Bills led the league running man about 42% of the time. The average percentage of man coverage was around 25%. It’s really, really hard to run man consistently in the NFL.

You can'r say the Pats OL was so bad because of bad players so the new OL coach gets a pass but the potential D coordinator sucks because his defense that has played wonderfully all year long is garbage because his ND team can't contain Ohio State.  Get a grip folks.

We didn’t hire a coach from the Giants.

Would have liked to see him get a stop on 3rd & 11 right there. That was too easy.

Even with them sitting on run on 3rd, you NEVER single Jeremiah Smith.

Yep, bunch formations and mobile Qbs  make it hard to run man that much. Also illegal contact being an automatic first down can't make it easy to run man.

Loved the play call tbh.

Gave me flashbacks to the ***** Super Bowl if we could have just bought Burrow an extra second.

Shows the importance of a good OL.
