With the Bengals being a family business, you'd think that treatment of families would be one item that they would knock out of the park.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

They must collectively just lack any ability to feel shame, I guess?

They just have to give some of this up. Their families aren't going to get the millions of dollars in fringe benefits here....
And I know inflation is a thing but they may have to pay for some of their food on off days and after 8pm.... Stopping back at Paycor for late night munchies probably isn't going to be a thing...

For reference last year:
https://nflpa.com/nfl-player-team-report-cards-2024
Food and dining went up from F- to F.
Nutrition increased a bit from F- to a C, locker room from D+ to A+ were notable increases.

My sources tell me that the reason for the increase from F- to F for food and dining is that after every home win last year the team had a pizza party with five DiGiorno cheese pizzas.

they have always seemed to do well i remember Devon Still's situation. wonder what the complaints are probly not enough free things
Really they don't owe much to the family of the players the players are the employees outside of insurance my job doesn't give perks to family members lol

Here's the thing with that in my opinion. Being some of the best in the world at something does indeed come with perks. Sure someone working an everyday job doesn't get them. But the higher up you go the more perks there are. Then there is also the aspect of teams wanting to attract players. So one team offers a lot of perks for family members and word spreads. Then players compare and maybe to some degree expect certain things based on either where they played before or what they know players from other teams are getting. If a player hears or has experienced another team doing more to support families, their kids are given a nice day care, they host events for family members and such and they realize their team is doing less they are probably going to grade their team lower.
Now certainly some if not most players won't care as much and will take more money via a contract for less of those perks. But when surveyed they will probably still give the team poor grades. Sure they can afford nice things for their family. But if a team like the Cowboys is doing a lot and a team like the Bengals is doing very little the survey results will reflect that.

Technically they don't owe the families of the players anything but seriously it is the easiest and least expensive item to fix. It is not hard to take some area near the family section of Paycor and turn it into a family retreat room. It is easy to build a comfortable family waiting area near the home locker room. Make someone in the front office the family liaison person to help new families acclimate to Cincinnati and plan family events. It isn't rocket science.
And frankly either is the food service issue. Granted it will take more money to invest in a better nutrition program but in the end it benefits the team as well as the player.
The 2 easiest marks to score high on are the team's worst
All hopes turn to next year

I think a lot of organizations offer meals to take home after practice.
Honestly, this seems like such an easy one to fix. It actually helps your team on the field as well.

Thumbs down me if you want but companies that pay you millions are not required to take care of your families too.

If you have 31 competitors and they all do something, then you have to do it. The Bengals apparently share your view though as they don't seem to change on some things.

I'm not sure but given the way they have started the season these last few years I think they are only in the building for happy hour the first few weeks.

Fair, but apparently different from 31 other specific ones.
