Landry played 423 pass rushing snaps last season and had a pass rush win rate of 4.78%. His sack's were a function of volume of snaps not because he was actually good at winning his reps. I can't find Murphy's number right now but want to say it's closer to 9-10 on something like 300 pass rushing snaps or so.

Jonathan Allen could be a good addition depending on his recovery and how much he wants paid. Harold Landry is a no for me. I think there are better options

With that said, he is not even 26 years old and has a career average of over 6.0 sacks a season, so he can still produce solidly.
I had him as a potential realistic target for Bengals to replace Hubbard, as they don't need a stud, just someone who is solid or above average.
I think Young is someone worth rolling the dice on.
He should still be able to put up 5+ sacks on whatever team he goes to.
I'd rather have Josh Sweat to fill one of those spots at DE, but Chase would likely do alright. He still gets a lot of QB hits, even when he doesn't complete the sack.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Spotrac has Young at 17.5 million/yr I'd rather pay the extra and get Sweat ( Spotrac has him at 18.8) IMO.

Way high for what Chase Young would bring, I agree, would much rather pay Sweat more who is much better.

This is exactly why the Bengals asking price for Trey will be high. Trey is under contract for a 16 million dollar base in 2025. That is lower than 2 DE who are not close to Trey.
A team is going to have to offer us the moon, otherwise we just don't trade him. Our worse case scanario is we pay him the 16 million in 2025 and then if he has another great year, we tag him in 2026.
Make no mistake the Bengas hold the cards for Trey's future. They could care less if Trey negotiates a long term deal with another team, in the end that team is going to pay a king's ransom in draft picks.

Yes they do, which is why I have been wondering why so many on here are whining about letting Trey seek a trade.
It is only in the Bengals best interest and Trey's. Was a smart move.
Did the Bengals take their offer of 32 mil per year off the table? If not, I would expect Trey to come back and sign it over only being paid 16 mil this year.

Geno Smith just traded to the Raiders. Sounds like Seattle is going after Darnold.

Maybe cousins, or package their 1st, DK (or picks received) and the third to move up for ward/sanders?

Sweat should command quite a lot more than Young.
I personally don't see the Bengals willing to spend $20+ mill on any outside FA.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

TPS Grade for Young was 68.5 and Sweat was a 66.6 TPS win Rate Young 16.5 and Sweat 17.9, So Sweat is not as much better than Young as most might think that Philly DL is just stacked....Baron Browning had a higher win rate than Sweat.

Bengals sign Gesicki and Hudson past 2 days. I see a ton of movement in the NFL before the legal tampering begins in less than 2 days.
I am hopeful we sign a very good OG (at least 1) and also either a very DT or better option than Hubbard at DE in FA.
The fun is about to begin.

I don't know what TPS is, but I know teams pay good money for guys who get 7+ sacks a season, and Sweat has had 25.5 sacks across the past 3 seasons, averaging 8.5 sacks a season in that span.
Chase Young in his 5 year career has 22.0 sacks, averaging 6.2 per season.
Isn't Baron Browning a pure LB who has played either ILB or OLB his entire NFL career?
Do people think he can shift to 4-3 DE?

What fans will volunteer to cover the airports starting tomorrow? It seems every year we see rumors of fans seeing FA's at the airport. I believe the legal tampering period begins at 12;01 a.m. on Monday the 10th.
I sure hope Becton and or Fries visit us quickly.

Both of them will cost over 10/yr I don't see it happening.

I will be the optimist and say they have been cutting and clearing cap. Why cut Cappa's over 10 million cap hit if not to sign someone better?
Cappa was 64th rated guard in 2024. He may have been worse than Volson. Give us a couple of top 15 guards and our offense finally becomes top 5 in league.
