Appears Becton not an option

Really hoped this is an area we would work to improve. I cringe every time I watch Burrow run for his life and take some vicious hits. (yes I know he brings some on himself but still...)

But he should have a lot better protection so he doesn't feel like he has to make a play out of every situation because he might not have time to do it on the next play.

I still don't understand how this team hasn't gone all out to protect him after he took us to the Super Bowl and AFCC with shitty lines.

Facts don't care about your feelings. BIG THANKS to Holic for creating that gif!

Any financial details? I wanted him, some in here did not.

Who is the guy reporting it? I have never heard of him. A guy had Chase deal done also, but was never confirmed.

Correction, looks legit just saw it on ESPN.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Might as well be the team song.

Jenkins & Scherff would be my picks.

Jenkins is visiting Seattle on Monday. Love to get Tee & Chase done before then. Free more space.

Right now, we do have enough to sign either guy, but both is iffy without more cuts/cap reductions or a Burrow restructure.

Caleb Williams took something like top 3 most sacks ever last year didn't he? I liked Jenkins coming out in the draft. But I think there is a reason he is still a free agent. I'd like to add him but idk if a bidding war is a good idea in the situation we are in. The Bears did all they could to upgrade from him.

We've won games with Ford and Volson starting. Kirkland looked like he belongs when he was on the field. I liked Stueber when he was in the draft.

And we get a chance to add more OL with picks from an entire draft class coming up.

I'd rather keep Trey Tee Chase if it was either or

They should know about FAFO they've done it to many times in the past.

Becton is a huge guy who mauls people in the run game. Philly was a run heavy team and so are the Chargers so fit wise it makes sense for him. Bengals are a pass heavy team. If he had his preference I’m sure he’d rather run block then pass block 40 plus times a game.

They had Becton in for a visit before and it wasn't a good fit. It was never going to be a thing. Some teams are just not gonna be a fit for players regardless if it was lack of interest on their side or ours. FA is a two way street. Still early enough that none of these guys are feeling the pressure to take whatever money is available.

I still think they sign a Guard in FA, but it wont be a big money guy. I think they will look at rd 2/3 to seek a long term fix for the position. As bad as our IOL was last year almost anything is an upgrade. Guys that are probably on the radar now IMO are:

1) Lucas Patrick- (Saints) 6'3 315, at 31 probably fits the profile of a swing guard 1 yr deal

2) Tryston Colon- (Cards) 6'4 315 actually pretty solid and is only 26.

3) Matt Pryor- (Bears) 6'7 330 another solid guy for RG, but is 31. probably can be a nice 1-2 yr guy

Caleb Williams took 28 sacks 5+ seconds after the snap. There's literally nothing an OL can do about that. If you get 5+ seconds to throw the ball and still take a sack, it's on the QB. Heck, I would probably say the same about 3+ seconds, but 5+ is absolutely absurd.
