It's not like he can hold out and lose the $17.5 million this year.
I know Trey wants more money, all of us always wanted more money. The NFL careers are very short. I think he wants more guaranteed money. He is in the last year of his contract and has zero, yes zero guaranteed dollars right now.
I see the Bengals extending Trey, but not close to the 32 million APY many are stating. I see him getting closer to 25 million per year APY, but with 60% of the 75 million guarateed or a cash guarantee of 45 million.
He still gets a huge raise and also gets guaranteed money which as of now, he has none.

The leverage the Bengals actually have here is massive as the franchise tag this year is $22.5 million, he is making $17 Million. Next year the tag probably goes to high 20's but still I doubt it breaks $30 million. They own Trey's rights and he isn't retiring as he obviously wants to cash in based on this whole thing. The Bengals do not have to do anything, they can essentially make him play at a steep discount this year and tag him the next two years which are probably the only years he has value then he is an FA and past much demand.
As others have said, you don't give him away unless the return is comparable to the leverage we have here. I personally like a 3 year extension averaging about $29 million a year with an ability to get out of the last year.

I agree. This is about an extension and not a new contract. Trey is due to make 15.8 million in 2025. If Bengals give him 28 million in 2026 and then 30 million in 2027, he can potentially make 58 more million.
As I have said, they guarantee is huge for him. Bengals guarantee his almost 16 million in 2025 and then 100% guarantee his 28 million in 2026. Then no guaranteed or little guaranteed money in 2027.
I think Trey should jump on any offer close to this. As you said, Bengals could tag him in 2026 (assuming he comes out of 2025 healthy, if not they could cut him right now) and he would make less money and less guaranteed.

?
Did you not know the numbers are already out?
4yr/$115m ($28.75m/yr) with up to an extra $30m in incentives available (so potentially up to $36.25m/yr).

My bad, I corrected the post and was obviously talking Trey and not Tee if you read all I posted.

I think if Trey is reasonable and undestands he has no guarantees at all and team has him for 16 million in 2025 and can tag him for 25 million (again not guarenteed he does not get hurt in 2025 negating the tag need in 2026, they should get a deal done.
If I am Bengals, no way I guarantee a soon to be 31 year old a huge guaranteed contract as they have other less exensive options to retain him.

There's a loooooot of smoke on social about Trey getting close to being done. A few Bengals defensive players have posted some cryptic messages around it. I wouldn't be shocked if this news drops soon.

Please elaborate on “done.” I don’t have social media so that can mean a lot looking at it cold.

Trey strikes me as a guy that doesn't mind flying coach.

Tobin probably said something similar to this about a Super Bowl to Rankins, Moss, Cappa, Pratt, ADG, Bell:

Pratt is still a member of the team. He asked for a trade, I've heard literally nothing about it since.

Trade him for a Guard or a Draft pick. Pratt doesn't fit Golden's Defense anyways, he needs faster LB's that can rush the passer and cover
and of course, Tackle.

The hell of it is, Pratt is a smart and instinctive player. He plays much faster than his timed speed. He's seemingly always in position to make the play, but goes for the big shot or the strip, rather than the sure tackle.
