"Barnett himself is also an exceptional athlete. During USF's pro day back in March, he was clocked running a 4.69 40-yard dash at 6-1 and 275 pounds according to Dane Brugler's "The Beast" NFL Draft guide for The Athletic. "

Anybody that can't read that:

That would have given him the best 40 time by any defensive tackle at the combine by .14 seconds!
I know that athletic ability isn't everything, but let's just hope that he can put it together and become a productive player!

Big Dude Bruegler had going to Chiefs in round 7
So if you sign a UFDA to a multi year contract then he has to make the 53 pretty much?

As much of a chance as any late round draft pick anyway. They wanted him enough to make him an offer hard to turn down

I heard WVU TE Kole Taylor received one of the biggest Bengals UDFA signing bonuses ever. I'm not sure if it's true or not just throwing it out there.
From what I have read, Im not sure why the Bengals would like Kole Taylor that much. At the Big 12 pro day he ran the 40 in 4.93 seconds, the three-cone drill in 7.52 seconds and the shuttle drill in 4.53 seconds. These are pretty poor times. For the season Taylor posted a 64.2 PFF grade which is average. He had 3 TDs with a 10.4 ypc average on 43 receptions. I didnt watch him this year so there could be something Im missing but his stats and testing numbers are not good.

One of the UDFA's i'm stoked about is WR Jordan Moore from Duke. HE started as a QB his freshman year and moved to WR after that. In 3 years he had 172 catches for 2,289 yards and 20 TD's . He's got very good hands and decent size at 6'0 195. I think he's just coming into his own. If he impresses keep him and get rid of Burton.
Moore shows he can play at multiple speeds displaying good burst and quickness on short to intermediate routes along with creating separation in the vertical game. Lining up at the Z-WR position he uses his quickness and speed to attack the secondary often winning his matchup vertically. In the short passing game, he shows grit, making tough catches in traffic. Moore is a dynamic athlete who can line up anywhere in an offensive system with additional showings at QB in the Wildcat and slot receiver. In the run game, Moore is a willing blocker who uses his hands well to gain leverage on stalk blocks, often blocking through the whistle with tenacity. At the NFL level, Moore will need to increase his catch radius away from his body as defenders will be bigger in stature, and passing lanes will shrink. His experience at the position shows at the top of routes as he sometimes drifts or doesn’t snap his routes off with conviction.
Overall, Moore is a raw talent who has transitioned to the WR position seamlessly with the added value of understanding coverages as a former Quarterback, he finds the soft spot in zones and plays with good speed vs Man coverage.
Chase and Tee will be able to help him with his weaknesses.

Getting him in a pro camp and working with him maybe they can get him into the 4.7's which would be good enough. 6'7 260 lb TE's with good hands doesn't come along everyday.

It's still a fast time regardless, but for Pro Day times you need to add .07 to the 40 time to compare it to Combine times. That's generally the accepted difference. Also if you're a 275lb DT, you SHOULD be faster than most. Lol
A 4.76 would put him at the low end of DEs at the Combine.

Nah, that's absolutely standard for a UDFA rookie who has never been waived before. Just like we did last offseason with Austin McNamara, Aaron Casey, Elijah Collins, Noah Cain, Rocky Lombardi, Tre Mosley, ect. Gave them all 3 year deals, then we waived them all and only then if they were picked up by other teams were they given just a 1 year deal.
Guaranteed money is a decent indicator on a team's potential to keep them. Most of those guys are getting just $0-15k... which is realistically just a contribution to the "move here and participate in our offseason" fund... but the higher that number is the more the team is initially invested in the player.
Even if they'll absolutely be willing to eat the small hit to cut them, it at least gives you a pretty good idea of their initial standing.
