Is Shemar holding out?
NFL clubs have valuations north of $5B. I realize valuations don't equal liquidity, but good God, it's embarrassing to see the Blackburns willing to die on a hill that pertains to a rookie's contract language that more or less is pennies on the dollar. This franchise continues to shoot themselves in the foot when it comes to optics.

This is no different then a first round rookie injured and not getting reps.

I think it means his rookie season is all but a wash. At least early in the season. Rookies who miss spring and are already considered projects typically have stunted growth. I think a slow start even with training camp reps should be expected.

That's exactly what it means and it gives the 'Shemar hypers' a built in reason why he will produce nothing this year and next year will be his 'rookie year'.

We were the 15th healthiest team in the league last year...or right around league average. We didn't have an innordinate amount of injuries, certainly not enough to use them as an excuse.

And on top of our 1st round pick slamming the FO, Burrow made it clear the Trey situation is a distraction.

*Sigh*

I hate it here.

Not a good start to a career. Basically turned against the franchise over contract wording that should be really easy.

This is beyond embarrassing, regardless of who is "more" at fault.

So not only did they draft a guy who had no production, they also managed to **** up a simple contract negotiation.

And WRT to Trey, totally the fault of this FO. Should have actually put forth some effort in FA to bolster the pass rush knowing they weren’t going to give in to Trey. But, they didn’t, and this is a circus that came to town ahead of schedule this year.

Early-onset bungle fatigue. Rather have COVID.

Yep.  When first round compensation became a slotted structure, I assumed that no team in the league could screw it up again.  Not even the Brown family.  I was very wrong.

I don't like hearing that from Shemar, geez, this ain't good. Thought they would get him at least in the fold. Shouldn't be this hard. Whatever

It shows you how poorly thought out the whole thing is.  If I was ready to let a guy like Trey walk should his demands get out of hand, I might get some insurance.  Take away the leverage.  If Josh Sweat was on the depth chart (just an example), Trey's leverage would be hugely diminished.  Heck, even if they doubled up in the draft with Green or Eziueraku in 2 or 3.

So much whining, so many over reactions. Calm down, we will be ready to get back into the playfoffs this year.

I have no idea what the hold up is, but I do wonder who his agent is as well. Maybe 100% Bengals fault or maybe Stewart and his agents fault or maybe both sides at fault.

It is hard to know, but too easy to always blame the Bengals FO without the facts in hand.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

None of us should be surprised. This is the bungle ownership & FO modus operandi.

Worst-run franchise is the league.

Shemar Stewart is represented by Zachary Hiller from LAA Sports. He's fairly young early 30's and started his own agency.

Also represents Dalvin Cook, James Cook, Zay Flowers and JK Dobbins

Oh please...stewart will sign and whatever is going on in this particular minute will have no impact on his rookie year

You mean the same ownership that took us to the superbowl and then to the afc championship the next year..and had it not been to injuries to burrow and a boatload of others they would have been to the playoffs the next couple of years..my lord man quit overeacting
