Also, nice EDLC!

It was a strike barely. The point is consistency. If you call a pitch that is lower and more in the zone a ball, you can't call a higher one in the same general area a strike.

It could have been nearly 2" higher and STILL have been a strike.

The point is, there was a bad call and the manager went and got himself thrown out to make a point over that call. The point was already made. Job done.

What possible point at that time could Fraley make by getting thrown out arguing against a correct call?... "Hey, remember how our manager told you to do a better job calling balls and strikes? Well I want to tell you to do a WORSE job at calling balls and strikes by getting myself thrown out arguing against a correct call?"

It would make zero sense.

Did you really think Fraley wasn't going to be upset taking a pitch called strike 3 that was in the same general area but a bit higher that was just recently called a ball for TB? Any player in the situation would justifiably be upset.

Hopefully they complete the sweep today. They got the Dodgers next and that might not be good series.

Appears they are looking for a middle of the order bat and bullpen upgrades.

Fast Forward to the day after the deadline: "We looked and called around but we didn't like the asking price. So we did nothing."

Brutal PA by Elly with 2 on and nobody out. Watch a strike down the middle, swing at one half a foot above the zone, watch strike three down the middle.

Nice job by Hays to get a run in, though. Then a double steal? Don't know if I have seen one of those by the Reds this season. Then more by Lux, hell yeah multiple (earned no less) runs in the 1st inning.

Kind of a tip of the cap to the opponent. Baz gave up three hits to the first four batters, then went 4 2/3 innings of two hit, two walk pitching despite going deep into counts and not having his best "put away" stuff. Most of his pitches were right near the edge of the plate. I always appreciate watching a pitcher when he has to battle through almost every at bat.

Singer with one Hell of a bounce back. 7 1/3 innings with only three hits, one run, one walk and eight strikeouts.

Now let's see how Santillan fares on his third straight day.

Sweep is complete!!! Only bad thing is they used both Santillan and Pagan in all 3 games which makes it hard to think they would be available tomorrow if needed.

I've watched Elly do that way too many times. Watches balls right down the middle, never moves bat. Stuff that's a foot off the plate or chin high, swings at. Makes me wonder if he needs eye exam? Not trying to be funny.

That's 4 in a row

Not just Elly either. I've seen it many times this year. Just commented about Joe doing it the other night. It's baffling and maddening.

Padres crushing St Louis 7-0 in the bottom of the 6th so it looks like they'll still be a full game out of the last Wild Card spot.

Miami beating Milwaukee 2-1 in the 7th and Chicago beating Chicago 4-1, also in the 7th.

LOL . . . I was ready to post this about 20 minutes ago but a bird flew in my house through the deck door so I spent time trying to get it back to the side of the house with the upstairs door.

Brewers tied it in the 8th and walked off in the 9th. Cubs held on 5-4.

The Reds went 4-3 vs the Dodgers last year, including 3-0 at home.

.....if the Reds were to sweep LA this year at home....there would only be a 2 game difference in their records.
