We all must pray/hope for a healthy preseason. I'd take a 31-0 loss if it means zero injuries.

Things I will be watching:

1) How does the IOL look? Especially if Carter & Davis get snaps for Philly. Patrick or Ford with the starters?

2) Is Mims impaired with the hand?

3) Potential leveling up from Yoshi, Burton, Mims, Murphy, Jackson, Jenkins, Turner, Fig, Ivey, and Battle.

4) How the new guys look: Slaton, Burks, Patrick, Perine + the rooks.

5) With CTB, Hill, and Wilson out, Turner, Fig & Ivey have to start at CB. Beyond them  we are into PS guys: Davis, Brooks, Robinson.

6) LS battle. Adomitis vs Wagner.

7) Any surprises from further down the depth chart? Anderson/Anthony at S? Johnson/Thomas at DE? Any depth OL guy? Bryan or another DT?

Teams play so vanilla offenses and defense that it will take a while to see that stuff. But, it's a nice list.

I think it will be interesting to see if the Bengals play Burrow and the starters as a way to avoid the slow starts.

This.
As much as we all want them to play the starters more in preseason to get off to a better start, I know the fan base would turn on Zac and blame him if one of the star players got hurt.

Hope we never find out…

Media has mentioned UDFA CB Bralyn Lux has been really showing up at practice when he gets a chance.  Since they are light in the DB, it will be interesting to see how much time he gets and how he looks

The two things that I'm most interested in seeing are, if the OL will have the ability to push a strong front like the Eagles off the ball any, and if the front seven will be up to the task of slowing down that Eagles rushing offense.

Will depend who plays for Philly
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

I don't think they plan to play their starters.  But hey, their backups are probably as good as everyone else's starters...

If they are not going to play their starters I want our starters to dominate.   Their starters dominated us last fall.

We were tied in the 3rd quarter until the Burrow interception happened. They dominated the 4th quarter though for sure.

Will be interesting to see how much we have improved even against the Eagles backups. They are the Champs for a good reason and
are as deep as any team. I think we have improved with the new coaches and players, we will see how much but we cannot take a ton
from preseason. The Lions got dominated by the Chargers because they didn't play any starters.

My watch list

OL being able control LOS
DL being able to control LOS
All rookies but especially 6 picks - Will Stewart's good start in camp against our OL show up tonight. Also Knight and Carter
CB's - I know Hill and Cam amy be out, so how do the others look\
Safety play - big concern for me still

Please no injuries for either team

WhoDey!!!!

I'll watch.  It's hard to watch, but I will try to at least watch the 1st Half.  Starters will be on the bench, but a good game for rookies and bench warmers to show if they have any game.  Hopefully they do, because the deeper your team is, the better. Injuries happen in a season, and these guys tonight have to be able to step in and play in real games when needed.

I will be looking for Blocking and Tackling tonight, which Bengals must improve on to get back to play-offs.  SUPER BOWL EAGLES will be a good scrimmage challenge. Even though coaches will call vanilla package plays and save better stuff for regular season, they still need to Block and Tackle.  I think it was 2008 preseason when Bengals could not block Saints and they injured Palmer and other QB's.  I knew that season was doomed because Bengals could not Block or Tackle that night or all season, and were lucky Fitzpatrick the Magic Man could run for his life at QB when ball snapped to him. So hoping for better effort tonight.  On Offense, is there a pass pocket and are there running lanes. On defense, are they tackling or missing tackles. That's what I'll look for tonight.  The first 2 or 3 seconds of each play will tell the story. If Bengals get beat in the trenches all night in the first 2 or 3 seconds, that will be bad.

Nick Sirianni has not yet given any clues whether the Eagles will play starters. He did play some last year in the first preseason game. Vic Fangio did say he hopes his starting defense plays.

But the Eagles don't have a history of slow starts to the season (10 and 1 last year to start the season) and they played 21 games last year, including the Super Bowl in February, so they are not in the same situation as the Bengals. I probably wouldn't play the starters if I were the Eagles, but I do feel the Bengals starters really need to play.

Excited about staying up until 4am to watch a preseason friendly must need my head testing LOL

The reps for the offence will be good but I’m not too bothered if they don’t score on every drive regardless of what the Eagles put out tonight.

Main thing for me is the defence and seeing if the likes of Murphy,Jenkins and Stewart look the part.

Will be interesting (if you’re a weirdo like me) to see the long snaps should we have the chance to make a field goal.

I still think a lot of Mcpherson’s misses were down to the operation last year

For those fans thinking teams we play are going to play a vanilla defense, I watched teams blitz us early and often in previous years preseason games.

I will be watching to see if Eagles blitz us and also if Golden plays a vanilla defense in preseason.
