So hopefully, this week to week thing is an abundance of caution reaction

I hope so. But we've seen the week to week turn into a very long time. So hard not to overreact at that news.

Sounds like typical training camp injuries and heat related issues, nothing to get too worried about. Well, perhaps the Tee Higgins needing fluids for a second time, but only because of his history of soft tissue injuries. I'm sure that if we go onto rivals boards, they will read similarly.

Yep. Any serious franchise would sign both a safety and a guard. But alas…

Pittsburgh has Pat Feiermuth, Jonnu Smith, and Darnell Washington.
Baltimore has Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely, and Charlie Kolar.
Cleveland has David Njoku and Harold Fannin Jr.

These are teams that are going to be mostly 12 personnel with some 13 personnel.

Just wanted to bump this post because apparently Darnell Washington is up close to 300lbs and still looks athletic.

That is interesting as he was not a very good receiver at 270 lbs. Almost sounds like they are going to make him an OL.

One way to find out is bring him in and look at him.  If he is not going to be ready anytime soon then let him leave.  If he is at the point where he might only miss the first couple of weeks then he would be worth signing.  The Bengals could bring him along slowly.  The Bengals need an interior pass rusher and Wilkins is pretty good at that.    I dont see anyone else of that caliber falling into the Bengals lap this season.  Defense obviously needs help and he could provide it.

Rivers looked very bad at tackle in the preseason game.  From what I have read, he had also been getting beat a bit in practice.  Most projected him as an NFL guard.  This was the right move.  There is no way he would hold up as a swing tackle this year if called upon.  I dont like Ford at tackle but I like him better than Rivers.  I would like to see Kirkland getting more snaps at tackle.  I thought he looked better than Ford last year before the injury.  Then again, it seems Kirkland cant stay healthy.

Teams probably want to wait to sign him after week 1 because his contract won't be guranteed throughout the whole season but if he signs before week 1 they have to pay him for the whole year.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Good point.  Im wondering about the grievance he filed against the Raiders and how that might impact what teams would have to pay him this year if he were to be signed.  If he prevails the Raiders would be on the hook for a big portion of his contract wouldnt they?  I dont know about such details.  The whole situation is interesting.  If healthy I think someone of his caliber could help the Bengals a great deal in challenging for the Super Bowl.

Also, if the Bengals are worried about Stewart and Ossai, Za'darius Smith is still available. I think the Bengals need to add somebody to the defensive line. I would rather have Christian Wilkins in the middle as I think that would help the defense more but there are other guys like Smith that could be added and would help.

I also worry about safety but Im not sure Justin Simmons adds much right now. He will be 32 years old in 3 months plus his PFF grade was 59.9 last season. His best playing days might be behind him.

We need a guard and maybe safety before another DL…

They don't seem to be worried about Stewart, all signs are leaning to him starting by game 1.

Not sure about Cincinnati, but I cut the grass and did some work in the backyard and Louisville, and took 3 cold showers while doing it. (We just moved and they haven't installed the new pool yet) The humidity is horrendous here.

Some people just react to the heat differently than others.  But with his muscle injury history, I would far rather they be cautious. If he  feels even the tiniest bit of cramping or tightness, take him off the field for a few minutes for a drink and a wet towel, as opposed to them losing him for weeks due to a soft tissue injury

Not sure why we are practicing outside in this heat. Use the practice bubble. There's no benefit if its gonna be that hot.

We have literally the hardest part to get in Burrow which is even amplified with Chase. Just about every organization would realize this and do everything they could to help those guys out. This is the time you dream of as a fan or organization and the Bengals are unable to realize that.

The question is are they unable to truly evaluate the talent they have. We let Bates and Whitworth go because we undervalue theyre talent and assume its easily replaceable. Do we think there is no difference between Burrow and our previous recent QBs?
Or does winning it all not matter to the team and just the fact we have Burrow and Chase do enough to keep the fans interested and funds beyond what is needed to be spent is viewed as a waste?
