Xavier Worthy-Good rookie campaign at WR, with 700+ total yards and 9 TD's.
Kingsley Suamataea -Drafted as the LT of the future, but huge disappointment. Has been moved to LG and is with the 2nd team this training camp.
Jared Wiley-Had one catch last year.
'23
Feliz Anudike-Uzomah-DE with 3 career starts and 2.5 career sacks.
Rashee Rice-Standout rookie campaign, but injured derailed his sophomore season. Numerous off field issues.
Wanya Morris-Failed miserably as a starting T and has been related to backup duty.
'22
Trent McDuffie -Has been a high quality starting CB.
George Karlaftis-Quality starting DE, with 24.5 career sacks.
Skyy Moore-A bust clinging to a roster spot, with 43 catches for 494 yards and 1 TD in three years with Mahomes as his QB.
'21
Nick Bolton-Average starter as a stack LB for 4 years, with a 65.4 PFF grade last year.
Creed Humphrey -Stud All Pro C with 3 Pro Bowls on his resume.
Joshua Kaindoh -Out of the league after his rookie season. N
You also have KC hitting on later picks as well. Trey Smith 6th rd. stud and one of the best right guards in the league and another guy the Bengals could have had. Isiah Pacheco 7th rd. The sad part is I just want the bare minimum out of some of our early picks. Myles Murphy give me a few sacks this year, set the edge and be semi competent against the run and maybe a pressure here or there ect. To go along with Hendrickson on the DL with have two 1st rd.picks opposite him at DE. We have a 2nd and 3rd rd. pick going into year 2 at DT. Then a 3rd and 2nd rd. pick at LB. We have a 1st rd. pick in year 4 at cb and then two 2nd rd. picks at cb in year 3 and 4 and then a 3rd rd. stafey going into year 3 we need to start seeing some results we've invested a ton on defense.

Hard not to agree.
If Patrick was gonna be it in FA, then they should have drafted another OG high in the draft. Period.
Nothing against Knight as a player, or Stewart as a prospect, but we had more immediate needs. Trade down or get that LB/DE help later.
Wilson, Pratt, Burks, Carter would have been liveable at LB. Or Wilson, Burks, Carter + another LB pick later.

Or just sign the guy who’s given up one sack in the last two seasons (Risner) and call it a day. The dumpster diving has to stop if this team seriously wants to compete for a Lombardi. A 10 year old playing Madden sees these holes, yet Duke/Mike/Katie do not.

The only starting caliber guard I see out there ar the moment is Risner. Who is very good in pass pro and below average in run blocking.
Patrick has 64 career starts with decent PFF grades past year. Albeit in a run first scheme and at LG.
He had 2 bad plays in the first PS game. One was a penalty we overcame and the other a whiff Burrow completed anyway.
I think disaster is a bit overstated.

I understand Knight is who Golden felt he needed for the team, but the Bengals could have swung a trade to move down a few slots and pick up another second-day or early 4th round pick, like teams did right before and shortly after the Knight pick. The team in front of the Bengals moved down 10 spots and picked up a late 3rd. Teams after the Knight pick also made trades to gain more picks. I really can't believe that Knight would have been picked up in the next 10 picks or so and the Bengals could have had another pick to get a guard. The Bengals could still address this problem by trade or pick up Risner, but we are already at the 2nd preseason game and I'm getting less optimistic.

Agree 100%.
That was one reason I was so sour on the draft. Missed opportunities.

You know how you have that guy or gal at work that just has something off about them? Professionally, they check all the right boxes. They show up and do their jobs. They are never really in trouble. When they have a job to do they always get it done with at least satisfactory results. Not lighting the world on fire, but also not a big problem. If they are available, they are in the actual working group and not sitting on the sidelines.
But..... There's just something unlikable about them. Despite being non-liabilities, you'd just rather not be around them if at all possible.
This has to be Dalton Risner's personality. He seems like a competent player. Even good sometimes. But he still has no job in an o-line-starved league. Does he fart in meetings? Bang teammates sisters? Just make generally creepy comments at inappropriate times? No idea, but there's something wrong with this guy that isn't public knowledge if you ask me.

Agreed it's almost shocking how little they did in free agency to address all their needs vs. trying to use the draft for everything. Outside of Slaton they basically sign two journeyman in Burks and Patrick. I also couldn't believe they didn't draft a safety or sign one. They said Stone is there guy and then ask him to take a paycut. Also if Jenkins and Mckinney don't pan out well look back at how they didn't take a DT in a draft loaded with them.

You have to have a trade partner, none of us know if there was a trade on the table where Knight was picked.
Golden wanted Knight badly. I am not happy about Patrick and his struggles, but hindsight is 20/20. Need to add a Guard though for sure.

They made Ja'Marr Chase the highest paid non-QB, paid Tee good money, brought back Mike Gesicki, BJ Hill, Ossai, brought in Slaton, Oren Burks
Samaje Perine, Lucas Patrick, Noah Fant etc.
Kris Jenkins and McKinnley Jackson look great right now. As long as we bring in another Guard and get Trey extended this Offseason was better than
I expected. Didn't expect to have both Tee and Trey on the team this year.

I am not sure that is a good example for a great guard will help avoid injury. Luck retired early do to his many injuries.

I hear that response a lot, that maybe there was not a trade partner. Sure. Maybe not. But Knight was pick 49. Picks 48 (moved back to 58 and netted another third round pick) and 57 (moved back to 60 for better draft position later) were traded so that those teams could pick up extra picks or better draft position later. Based on that, I think there was a trade market for pick 49, and one that would have allowed the Bengals to move back in range to still get Knight some picks later and add another pick. Bengals had only 6 picks in this draft and really could have used additional picks. Most analysts considered Knight a reach at 49, and many thought he was a third-round pick. I don't see any of the teams between 49 and 60 drafting Knight.
I'm glad the Bengals added Knight. I trust Golden's analysis that he fits his scheme and that we will be very pleased with Knight. I just feel the Bengals had a lot of holes, and I hope that they did try to move back and add a pick. I guess we will never know, as this is not something they will ever speak about publicly.

Cannot argue with any of that. I actually really liked the Draft, my only real critique WAS not trading back and selecting Knight to add
another pick so we could add another Guard. Love Fairchild, but if we could of got Ratledge or another Guard as well we would be in a
lot better spot right now IMO.
Ratledge next to Mims would be ideal instead of a banged up Lucas Patrick. But we can still add Risner or another Guard for insurance
and I think it happens after our Monday night game with Cody Ford getting banged up as well. Kind of forced the Bengals hand.
Sometimes we need this lol
