Richmond is about a 2 hour drive from DC. I know because it's close to an equilateral triangle from where I am, to Richmond, to DC.

Always thought my drives down were shorter. Just not have paid attention since I always go further south

It also depends on what day, what time of day, and what route you take. I get to hear all about it at functions for us finance types. My drive to Richmond is apparently always less stressful than those coming from NoVA or the 757.
