But he's only a minor part in the big picture of the difference between a winning culture as set up by the Steelers organization thru the years. And the dysfunctional, undisciplined, total lack of accountability set up here by Mike Brown and of late Marvin Lewis.I agree with this and would like to add one thing....Most fans of Pittsburgh do not like Mike Tomlin and as matter of fact there has been rumblings, even this year, that players are not his biggest supporters at times. This brings up the question I have posed in the past about our playoff losses. When do the players put it on their shoulders and win a damn game? This is not pee wee football where some coaches are coaches and some other coach is the dad of the QB and has little football knowledge. These are professional athletes...At some point they need to be accountable also. Maybe this is part of the culture also...Steelers players go out and play their hearts out to win for their team and franchise..

Chris Mueller of the Beaver County Times reports that Porter was handcuffed and placed in the back seat of a police car outside of a bar in the Southside area of Pittsburgh on Sunday evening. Mueller reports that Porter was handcuffed following an altercation with a police officer. CBS Pittsburgh confirmed with Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson Sonya Toler that Porter has been arrested. “We are aware of an incident tonight involving Joey Porter,” Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten said, via Mueller. “We are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation, and we will have no further comment until we get more details.” Porter is in his third year as a Steelers coach and played eight years for the team. Guarantee Porter gets a slap on the wrist, if anything. Whenever someone talks shit about Tez, I always point to Joey...

Unlike in here, the Steeler fans will not be crying and moaning about which of their players or COACHES is the dirtiest. They'll call it the "steeler way" while you thumb suckers cry about every Bengal show of aggression. Steeler fans don't give a F !

Because ownership and coaching here are a joke and we don't have the refs in our pockets.

The accountability I'm more worried about is with underperforming players and coaches. You don't see the Steelers hanging on to bad players and coaches like the Bengals do. They've also been more prone to release problem players than the Bengals (think Santonio Holmes, Blount, countless no name players, etc).

Pretty simple. They just have more talent than us.
Bell > Hill Ben > Andy Their defense > our defense. Not really that complicated. The boys are just talkin' ball, babyyyy

People can talk about the organization and how its full of "winners" and blah blah blah all day, but it comes down to the talent on the field. The Steelers just have better players right now than the Bengals. Its that simple. The boys are just talkin' ball, babyyyy

The one thing I DO agree with what Marvin has said, is that unless you win the last playoff game, it doesn't matter which one you lose before that, provided you have 'make' the playoffs, to being with, to have a 'chance' to win the last game. If you were an owner and you had to to start a team from scratch, which QB would you take, both in their prime? Dalton or Ben? If you had to start one of those guys in a playoff game tomorrow, who would you take? Dalton or Ben? Thats what I thought. The boys are just talkin' ball, babyyyy

the answer is simple....one person and one person only the Rapist Ben Roethlisberger
Look at how that team struggles when he doesn't play, they can't win put him in and everything changes they've been fortunate to have this guy and he alone is the single reason why they have been so successful

Brown is probably the best WR in football. Roethlisberger is a top 5-7 QB. How hard is it to be a good OC when you have all of that?

The Bengals have all of that -- with an offensive line that couldn't block a thermal neutron. Mike Munchak is a former head coach who coaches the Pittsburgh offensive line. Paul Alexander plays the piano. He's okay at it unless he has to play in the key of C or G. Then everything sounds flat and slow. |
