They cut him last year.

They signed him back later in the season.

C. J. Uzomah. Eifert gets dinged up and this kid is a solid red zone target that we buried because of the big drop. Even if he doesn't get the targes or opportunities I could see him with say 5 TDS and being looked at aa a breakout kid that some would favor over Eifert at long term guaranteed money. Right or wrong, I could see this playing out.

Good one and a definate possibility. Uzi is so big and fast he could breakout for sure. He didn't have as many drops as
people claim either. Like you said, the one big drop and then Dalton just seemed to not look his way and then Eifert came
back. Uzomah has tons of talent. I like Kroft too, but the injury clearly affected him. Didn't look the same as his rookie
year.

Saying all this we need to draft a TE in the mid to late rounds with the depth this year.

Probably the most talented TE crop ever.

This doesn't sound at all far fetched.  I thought he showed some game and i could see him stepping up.
