McCaffrey RB

He's definitely got llightning feet.

McCafferey can really be special. The thing is worst case if he can't handle all the carries you can split him out into the slot and he could be one of the top slot WR's in the league. He will also come in and upgrade the return game immediately. He is a very versatile player.

Don't know if you do Instagram or not but I would almost guarantee somebody else posted that short video to of him on NFL network,,,simply amazing.Im just not comfortable with taking a rb that early with  line the way it is.If we use him in  slot  pretty much a wasted pick on Boyd if he's on the bench I feel.McCaffrey is gonna make a great rb I believe though for somebody.

My favorite player in the draft is Mike Williams but not even that pick is gonna make me happy knowing our line is a mess.I think Fisher will hold it down at RT but I have absolutely no faith in Cedric. He was just constantly pushed around.I think our best bet would be trading back and getting Cam Robinson or maybe try trading with the Rams for Greg Robinson. Then I would be 100% for drafting McCaffrey there at 9.

They aren't giving up on a 1st round pick after 1 year where they played him out of position. If you draft Robinson then it's a wasted pick for this year. Greg Robinson is not good, Rams not even going to pick up his 5th year option. I have faith Ced will be better this year, maybe not great but better, and the line will be good enough to be effective.

We can start solidifying the O-line in the 2nd round, nobody is worth that pick at 9, go BPA.

McCaffrey just might be BPA for us. He is just what we need with Gio's injury and both his and Hill's poor play.

I would be fine with trading back and getting Cam Robinson.

But if we don't, there are still ways of getting the best out of the O-line even if Ogbuehi continues to suck which i don't
think he will honestly. Og will get better but if he doesn't get that much better we could always go like this...

Fisher - Boling - Bodine/top Center pick - Westerman - Andre Smith

Was only using Greg Robinson because he would be so cheap to get with there draft situation.I would take him over Ogboui right now even knowing he want be the longtime answer.Soon this time next week we will have the depth we need though hopefully so even if Ogboui struggles nd shows no signs of improving we have other options.I have never been a fan of a two tight end set and having one stay in to block every time just because there is no trust in a tackle though.Uzo was coming on in the passing game and taking snaps away from him in the passing game just to line Kroft up to help block would suck seeing.

But if the defensive end Allen, OJ Howard, LF, and Thomas are all gone at number nine what do you think about trading down a few spots and taking McCaffrey?

McCaffrey seems like one of those running backs that can do just about anything. In addition he doesn't really need a good offensive line to cut it loose.

I guess for me it would depend on the haul we got for trading back.  If my guy Ross is gone at, say, 16 and the Bengals traded there but gained an additional 2nd rounder, I wouldn't really have a problem with it as I think he is an exceptional player.  He would immediately be your KR, PR, rotational back, and backup slot WR.  He is clearly the best receiving RB in the draft and that is a key piece.  He runs routes better than a lot of WRs.

I just doubt they would really take any RB in the first round of this year.  I like him, and he is a solid character guy, but the only way I could see him ending up in stripes is if the Bengals traded back a couple times and took him in the 20s.

They are trying to acquire Gillislee now also.. Burkhead will be a 3rd down back also for NE.

We actually upgraded the return game last year with Erickson so this is less of a need... Gio takes away parts of what McCafferey does so again less of a need.. if we go anything with a RB that early.. go with the power back if available.. but i don;t see use using #9 pick on RB .

On the flipside, none of our backup DEs seems to be edge rusher types so that way more of a need and there are some fine edge rushers that will still be there at #9 I believe.. hell I hope at least 1/2 QB and 1/2 RBs go ahead of our pick #9 so a DE slides to us like Allen.

So hope is Jacksonville and Carolina take RBs... and either SF, Chicago, Jets take a QB and Allen slides to us or Barnett is still there for us.

I have said McCafferey isn't a good fit for us because of Gio, but I think he is a good fit for a lot of teams in the top 10. Remember that Carolina lost Philly Brown and Ted Ginn so they do need a returner to go along with a HB and even a slot WR when Stewart is in.

I agree with McCafferey not being a good fit.

He is going to be more of a specialist, package back. Too slight of build to take the beating.

I see 2 RBs fitting the Bengals here:

Fournette & Mixon.

I think they will have to trade up to get either. We shall see!

Dalvin Cook fits us very well, so does McCaffrey cause he is versatile. The problem with Hill is everyone knows
we are going to run it when he comes in, predictable. We are less predictable when Gio is out there and would
be the same with any of these backs who can all catch the ball out of the backfield, even Fournette.

Mixon won't be gone by 9. I am pretty sure of that. lots have us taking him at #41.
