I agree with you -- especially when it comes to blocking.  Yes, we love tight ends who can run routes and catch balls over the middle in traffic but if a team has a weak offensive line -- and Cincinnati does -- having a blocking tight end becomes crucial.

Depending on what system they run the Bills got a steal there potentially.

Could be possible that they offered the two the same deal and CJ jumped on it first. It's happened before.

No possibility they signed the one they wanted and let the other one go?

I would have kept CJ over Kroft anyway. Then Draft a TE in day one or two of the draft. Might want to grab another in the late rounds also.

Kroft is decent in the short underneath stuff.
ask him to outrun a LB...no way.
