However, it will take down a bull moose or a grizzly with one shot. That's one way to send a home invader flying out the door, regardless of body armor!

That said, you probably need to be within 100 to 200 yards. Velocity for the round drops precipitously after 100 yards. The round zeros at 100 yards and then drops about 6 inches at 200 yards. The drop at 250 yards is 28 inches!!!

I've been out here long enough to feel entitled to "cowboy it" a little. And since it doesn't appear like this old veteran out here is going to sell me his tommy gun...

A lever action rifle is like a shotgun, when you ratchet a round, a would be intruder will mutter "oh shit" .....

Bet it is over a dollar a shot.

Definitely. The nice thing about a rifle like that, though, is you don't need a whole lot of shots.

If they made a hollow point it would be like a grenade going of inside the body.

They do have a hollow point. Those are the ones that are $2.00 per round.

As far as damage to a body, the smaller caliber weapons they showed in that firefight scene I posted earlier probably do a lot more damage as most of them have rounds that tumble and bounce around once they enter the body. One of the things the scene gets right about firefights is how people get shot with the smaller rounds, but still move around and fire for a second or two afterwards. The ultimate damage of the small round hasn't fully registered yet. This round is more shock and knockdown, like a shotgun with no shot spread.

Depends on what you want with it and where you go. I've seen some priced at $750 (GunWorld, I think), but I'm sure that is just a base rifle.
