Reds Month of August Games Thread
(08-31-2019, 11:04 PM)cinci4life Wrote: Iglesias blows another one and likely the game. Un freakin real.

When we came up empty in the top of the 9th I turned it. I knew with Iglesias coming in I wouldn't wanna watch it. Just found out I was right.

They gotta find a closer next season if they want any chance.

Aquino has become the only reason to watch this team for the rest of the season. Could be worse, I guess.

They've made some strides, but the ownership has a lot of work to do this offseason.

The National League is too much for a rookie manager.

Votto still batting 2nd.
Iglesias still closing.
There are about three or four set players, the rest are nothing but utility players.
That's 100% a Bell creation.

The Cardinals are the Steelers and the Reds are the Bengals.

Raisel Iglesias flat out ***** sucks.

2-11

The guy that pitched the 9th against the Reds?

10-0 with the exact same ERA as Lorenzen, 2.92. Iglesias is at 4.63

Are there any other closers with that crappy of an ERA? He's the new Fernando Rodney.

Iggy will be released but his Salary next year is hefty. I don't think anyone would trade for him.

Over the previous three years he had a 2.47 ERA, averaged over 10 strikeouts per 9 innings, and held opponents to a .208 batting average.

That is a good bit more than "a moment in the sun".

Gray sure looks like a Cy Young candidate again this year. Hell, he Looks like one of the top Pitchers in the NL. Gray, Castillo, Aquino, Suarez are types you build a team around.

Reds are locked into a battle in the 9th against the Phillies. Do they win a 1-run game? Does the Punisher come through?

He’s probably been the best pitcher in baseball since the AllStar break, that’s just a guess. Did anyone notice that Votto probably had his best game of the year yesterday. He got his timing down, had 3 hits and even drove the ball. Bell benches him the next day so he doesn’t get on a roll. Smh

If Votto and Barnhart ran a race, and the race was a 40 yard dash...

would there be enough daylight for one of them to finish?

Gray’s ERA. July-2.23, AUG-0.74, Sept-1.5. Now that’s ACE style right there. It’s a pity that his teammates haven’t had his back. He should have at least 15 Wins by now. That’s looking like a fantastic deal for the Reds so far! That extension is a fantastic value!
