Lapham said AJ looked 'unbelievable' in Pregame Workouts

...and again he’d never have passed a physical. This is getting towards, “guy may never be the same” territory.

Time to move on.

Hopefully they've been eyeing receivers in this draft as well. Or sign a younger, healthier vet.

When it's the Bengals... I'll side with the player.

As you've said, the Bengals history does the players no justice.

In this instance, by not putting him in IR they give the NFL the impression that he should have been able to play this year and has had complications, thus turning other teams off to him for next year and driving his market price down.

It could actually be an honest mistake, but highly unlikely when the Bengals are involved. Mikey knows how to play the game when it comes to the money side.

From listening to the fans suggesting he quit on the team I thought he might be visiting a cardiologist because he’s got no heart.

Anyone who wants to get a heart just needs to do what the Tin Man did in Wizard of Oz.

The team has paid out nearly half of his current contract(30million) while he was on the injured list. For them to be skeptical of resigning him before they are sure he can play is prudent. None of us know what dollar amount AJ and his agent are seeking but breaking the bank for a player who will , by the end of the year, have missed one  and a half years straight doesn't make sense. My way of thinking is AJ has been paid well over his contracts and should do something like Fitzgerald has done and not try to hold the team hostage. I guess we will all see just how much AJ  wants to truly retire a Bengal.

So in light of Green seeing a specialist you’ve moved on from him quitting on the team to “let’s see how much he wants to retire a Bengal.”

Who the ef wants to retire a Bengal? During Mike Brown’s almost 30 year reign of terror upon us fans, the Bengals’ greatest achievement is that they didn’t suck for about five years in a row before returning to MB’s baseline level of shittiness to once again compete for the number one overall draft pick (which they’ll probably miss out on due to the dead cat bounce.)

Why are you a fan then? Are you a glutton for punishment? Do you find enjoyment talking down to others with your super knowledge? I really don't give a rats A%% what AJ does all I know is we can't rebuild keeping players for their nostalgic value. The team needs to improve and while I would agree that the chance of MB changing his stripes and buying his way out of mediocrity is slim to none , that is exactly what needs to be done. So if you are happy griping about how shitty the team is while giving over the hill players millions ,well good luck because that's not how I see the turnaround happening.

As a matter of fact, I do enjoy being knowledgeable. Beats the shit out of not being knowledgeable and making up stories about players malingering. You should try it some time.

Aha , just as I thought a true narcissist. You only comment to try to point the spotlight at yourself instead of discussing the other issues facing the team. But lets be real, you have no more insight into AJ's injuries than anyone else. If you are so darned smart why don't you give the FO your number so you can diagnose the Bengals injuries instead of those real doctors who went to school for nearly a decade?

If you want to discuss all the other problems with this team make a state of the franchise thread and we can discuss their other problems there.

This is an AJ Green looked unbelievable thread.  Let's confine your false accusation he quit on the team here.

As far as insight into his injury, I can watch the film and determine the mechanism of injury.  From the mechanism of injury, I can determine a differential diagnosis of the most likely injuries.  From his treatment (surgery) I can determine his ankle sprain was at least grade III which involved at least one completely ruptured ligament at a minimum.  From the mechanism of injury I can determine the most likely ligament which needed surgery (deltoid, less than 5% of ankle sprains involve the deltoid ligament.)  Knowing which ligament needed repaired helps determine a prognosis.  The prognosis for a deltoid repair can be a lot longer than for the more common anterior talofibular ligament.  So that knowledge is what leads me to believe Green is still legitimately rehabbing an injury.  Instead of getting all hyper-emotional like it's that time of the month and accuse Green of quitting on the team as opposed to considering he had surgery and maybe he isn't ready to play a contact sport at the highest level of competition in the world.

Then we can also consider Green's past behavior when injured.  He was reportedly upset at the team when they wouldn't let him play injured with his hamstring injury.  Also, he came back to play last year while he was still injured with the turf toe and immediately made it worse and lost the rest of the season.  Does that sound like a quitter to you?  For that answer you just need a little bit of common sense.  The answer is, no.  That doesn't sound like a quitter.

Now it's your turn to cast more irrational aspersions on Green's character.

I guess we can get rid of MRIs and other procedures because we have you. As I stated earlier I don't care about AJ enough to worry about weather we should be sorry that a multimillionaire may not want to be here. What I do care about is how we get back to winning. As much as I like AJ we would be better off with a nut case like AB who produces. Quit crying about winning if you want to keep aging players who quit producing but you like their "character".

Look, I’ve explained why I don’t believe you when you claimed Green quit on the team. That is not the same as crying about winning or wanting to keep aging players who quit producing. Stop making shit up.

I'm not trying to get in the middle of a semi funny argument. However, I think it needs to be pointed out that all these things that AJ has or hasnt done have never occurred during a legitimate contract year.

Also, AJ has never reffered to himself as a business.

You may continue...

That really burns my a$$. I worked on a broken foot (I’m a nurse) running all over the place for 12 hours with the big boot.

And I didn’t make anywhere near what AJ makes. He clearly milked it, imho. Can’t say I blame him though.

In light of Green being placed on IR during Week 16, does that mean he didn’t quit on the team? Is he less disgruntled? Is the organization more inept for waiting so long?

So you all need to just stop making stuff up in your heads and claiming it is true.

Lets be honest he could have played this year and "packed it in"

I bet if he was traded before the deadline he would have dressed in all the games.

AJ Green, one of the best players in the history of our franchise is a selfish clown now?

Ffs I’m about ready to take a break from this place.
