Record setting extension for McCaffery
#1
As expected, Christian McCaffery signed a huge extension deal with the Panthers. Will pay him an average of $16M/per.

This is not an indication of what RBs can expect to be paid.  He is more than just a RB.  He IS their offense.

Yes, he is.  Living in NC, he's the local game every week.  I hope that he can stay injury free, and become a record setter.

I wonder how many young RBs are looking at that number and thinking they'll be getting that type of money.

Had the Kareem Hunt off field issues not occurred, I certainly think that he would have been one worthy of that type of number.

no way Bengals paying that kind of money for a RB. Maybe 8-10 mil per. Bengals may take a RB this draft fairly high.

For guys who mainly just run the ball, Zeke got the last big contract.

McCaffery is different.  Barkley might be in that category but he hasn't gotten there yet.  And he missed games and McCaffery doesn't.  There is such a thing as running the wheels off a guy too.  But he got paid big.
