We have a good thread going about who some of us want to wear stripes...
Who don’t you want for the Bengals? Whatever the reason. Off the field junk, don’t believe in the tape/measureables, or just know because you are a draft guru the guy doesn’t have “it”.
Mine would be OT Austin Jackson. He is only 20 and pretty unpolished at this point. I’m not looking for a “Boom or bust” guy in the early rounds at all.

Jordan Love is not my guy.
Dude needs too much refinement for my liking.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

Willie Gay Jr. No way I'm putting a guy who broke his own QB's face on a team with Burrow.

Cesar Ruiz. I don't think he has the versatility to play Guard (Price 2.0).

Mims.
I'm in the super-minority on that one, but I just don't see a Baylor WR being successful, in the modern day (sans Josh Gordon, of course).
I'd go anyone but him, even if he was available.

Lots of hype from the recent guys, but all (aside from Gordon) were nothing better than average #2s or worse.
Just like there has never been a successful Samoan/Tongan/Pacific Islander QB in league history, who's to say Tua wouldn't buck that trend?
I don't think he does and I don't think Mims will be that great.
We will see how things play out :)

Here we go again. I spent months arguing with you guys about Mixon and how he was going to be a total pro. You better know all the facts before you just throw stuff out and judge people.

Mixon had a single, isolated incident. It was a horrific incident, but even I was in favor of giving him a second chance. He was by all accounts a model student athlete apart from that.
Gay has a series of incidents. He's had his academic scandal. He's been thrown out of games. He's taken numerous personal fouls. He punched out his QB. And yes,I'm aware Schrader swung first, but he did so after Gay tackled him in a non contact drill, which is another reason I don't want him on the same team as Burrow. Burrow won't take that lying down, either. He is simply not worth the risk.

I'm with you on Mims. I read he drops a lot of catchable balls.

I totally see the upside and he IS a larger WR, like Gordon (the other guys were all smaller guys, save for Terrence Williams), but Baylor = iffy, IMM.
I always wondered what the hell happened to Kendall Wright (as I always thought he had a 1,000 yard year) and that was confirmed today; he seemingly fell off the face of the earth.

This. If we do the unthinkable and trade the 1st pick I’d rather wait until next year for a QB.

Laviska Shenault.
I like his game, but the fact that he's already banged up scares me. We spend enough time worrying about fragile receivers as fans of this team, and their unavalibilty undoubtedly effects outcomes of games. You can't predict injuries, but I'd prefer they avoid taking a guy that's already banged up.
I don't hate Ruiz, but I don't want him where he seems to be going in a lot of drafts, ie in the late 1st/early 2nd. I know everyone hates to hear it, but he's another guy with questionable arm length. Maybe it matters and maybe he's a good enough player to overcome it. I have no idea. What I do know is that the last short-armed center this team spent a high pick on was an abject failure when playing guard, which is where Ruiz would play on this team seeing that Hopkins has C locked down. I'll pass on risking another Billy Price.
