A running leap would add A (acceleration) to the equation.
What exactly do you think that DTs attempt to do, when the ball is snapped?
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Stop the ball carrier using force (the F in W x H =F). But they usually don't get a running start. It's usually an explosion from a stationary position,
Let's just drop this one and you can take solace in the fact that you impressed Toast with your science.

Can't we just say that's a pretty impressive leap for a big man?

I hate to beat a dead horse, but I also hate to listen to snark from a person who has no idea what he is taking about.
There is little load on the foot during a leap because the thigh muscles already have the body weight moving before the foot even flexes. A leap is nothing like the force of a constant load. If you don't believe me then just check out the difference between jumping 10 times and doing a set of ten calf raises with your full body weight.
And he did not leap 44 inches. He jumped a couple of feet and the rest of the distance was him just bending his knees to raise his feet.

They just announced they waived UDFA DT Tyler Clark. That clears the needed roster spot for Daniels to be signed

Wtf. We were only at 79 and had the room I thought. You aren’t allowed to bring players in for a visit if you are at 80. I thought Clark had a shot. At least he was a DT too. Maybe did that because we could be looking at CB now

The UDFA who tested positive for COVID was reactivated a couple of days ago. He took the 80th spot

Every time I see this guy's name I read it as "James Be Raping".
IMHO, he really should drop the middle initial.

I wanna see any doubters, go out and sprain your ankle, then jump vertically with as much force as you can...then come back and tell me how easy it was.
