How do you keep interest in rebuilding years?
#1
I have heard realistic madden franchises and daily fantasy leagues keep people invested, some people collect football cards.
I'm thinking about getting that game pass thing and watching 2009 or 2011 or 2015 on Sundays.
I normally will watch "rebuilds" if the young players are improving but this is just sad to watch, even if there is a silver lining every game. Arguing about politics with family at Sunday dinner after the game brought up my mood after today.
Maybe I'll tape extra college football.

Perspective

If the Bengals win against Colts, they actually could have a better record than 10 others teams and achieved their win total from last year after 6 games..

The newer porn models are disgusting looking. They look like melted barbie dolls with excessive work done. Kinda yuck love island-tier girl imo.

Keeping interest in rebuilding year? Look for minor things to build upon, development in players, units coming together in a cohesive fashion, have plenty of booze on the shelf, etc.

Watching Burrow progress is more than enough for me.

However, in the rebuilding years when we still had Dalton, especially the 2017 to 2019 versions, it was really tough. The team felt directionless with a cap on their capabilities due to the QB.

Burrow changed that though Big Grin.

He wont be around much longer if Zachary and Jim don't figure out how to protect him.

With all due respect, that is like saying I got a 100% return on my $1.00 investment. Sounds great until you realize I made $1.00.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Seriously, you can't keep interest in watching what will probably become one of the best QB's in the league develop over his 1st year? You can't keep interest in watching this group of youngsters on Defense get better with every game? I mean really? Maybe football just isn't for you..... I think PBS has Bob Ross painting reruns on.... Hilarious

Its hard to watch Burrow get killed out there. If it wasn't just sack sack run punt it would be more fun even with the losing.

Keep interest is probably a subjective term.
If "keep interest" = watch the games, I don't once the Bengals dig a big enough hole.
Last year, it was after the first Steelers game for me.

If "keep interest" = still be excited for the team moving forward, it's researching individual players to determine where the biggest upgrades need to be and start mocking moves for the offseason. The draft is big interest to me, so I'm always thinking about the draft.

Fantasy football can help distract, but this year is particularly frustrating due to the games being moved around. I've already lost a matchup because Titans were pushed out and I had to resort to a backup RB instead of Henry.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Watch rookie Burrow look better than rookie Dalton while watching Dalton take Cowboys to Super Bowl.

Honestly though even if we are "rebuilding" we have to see major improvement from a team that got two first round draft picks and a handful of big name free agents.

You too, eh? I've pretty much given up this year...lol
When I have crap like that go wrong, my opponent has the game of his season against me. I'm faring far worse than the Bengals this year.

Normally I'm in 4-5 fantasy leagues a year.
This year, I'm only in 1 and that's because I didn't see they reactivated until the draft started and I ended up autodrafting my first couple of picks. So I decided I'd just autodraft the rest and see what happens.

While this season has been disappointing it hasn't been that bad (at least on the Bengals scale) of season. In all honesty the team has a lot of pieces that should have fans excited.
Burrow, Jonah, Higgens, Bates, and Wilson all look like good young players that this team can build upon.

Here is were the frustration comes to me.
We haven't improved on our biggest weaknesses on offense this season. The offensive line is still bad, Redzone offense is still garbage, lack of explosive plays, and most importantly not converting Turnovers into points.
We have on offensive coach who is getting showed up by his 6th pick at Defensive Coordinator.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!
