Anyway, yes I saw those backup lineman "play" in the SuperBowl. That line reminded me a lot of our STARTING oline.
I have to admit the Bengals probably would hold onto them for two more overpaid injury plagued years before finally getting the hint it's over.

Why would anyone want this to happen?
Wait just a second buddy! I NEVER SAID I WANTED THAT TO HAPPEN! AND I DON'T WANT IT TO HAPPEN THIS SEASON EITHER!
I said it was going to happen and it did because management did jack to protect Burrow last season! If this franchise don't do a better job of getting Burrow better protection, it very well may happen again! Don't put it on me! Put it on the front office! I'll just say this, if the FO cannot do a better job of protecting the franchise that borders on criminal! Let's hope they figure it out, don't care how! JUST GET IT DONE!
So far management has done a piss poor job in FA protecting Burrow, as once again, the best are signing elsewhere. There's plenty of time left to get something done I guess but will anything get done? I prey we get creative and don't have to dumpster dive again. Maybe pull off some trades? I don't know, they just need to get it done period!

If they can get Hendrickson, Spain, and Reiff that'd be a solid first wave of FA.

I said weeks ago that a "good player" would rather play for the Chiefs than the Bengals and was bemoaned about it. Yeah, money is money but Chiefs play in Super Bowls, we are a history making dumpster fire.

The point (obviously) is the Bengals are making these guy’s decisions very easy by lowballing them.
If they make extremely competitive offers (like a Marvin Jones situation) but the player still chooses to go elsewhere then we can talk about the other none money related reasons for missing out on them.
But it’s now been confirmed our offer to Zeitler was not competitive with Baltimore’s. But then again, one is a model franchise and the other is a laughingstock.

If they don't want to pay for good guards, that's one thing. What I don't get is why you'd bother insulting these guys with garbage offers when other teams do. It's like having a bad idea, then putting the bad idea out there for everyone to laugh at when you keep impleneting it.

When Burrow suffers another major injury due to inept blocking up front, this FO still won't understand what happened.

I'm saying if say a free agent is offered, to make things simple, $1 to play and start for the Chiefs or $1.25 to play for the Bengals I'm guessing most would choose the Chiefs. They are at the top of their game and want to keep winning.
Also the Chargers won a playoff game against the Raven Jan 6, 2019. So I argue their reputation is better than the Bengals. The Bengals are what they are and managed horribly in my opinion. Again as much as I dislike it, this team we love is not a team a lot top tier players aspire to get contracts from.
Ofc they overpaid Reader (and Waynes). Now do it on the OL FFS!

As long as they make an offer, no one can say they didn't try.
Not their fault.
We'll get 'em next year.
Fans are mean.
Team sucks. We will sign some guys we will have to google to find out something about.

You're right.
Instead, they'll bring a bunch of B/C-tier guys and end up maybe getting 6-7 wins.
THAT WILL TEACH THOSE TEAMS WHO SPEND IN FA!!!
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

That’s one of the most accurate and depressing posts I’ve ever seen on these boards.

Now now. We don't want to be blowing our wad like Dan Snyder.
Let that all be a valuable lesson learned about FA.

I know everyone is on the ledge ready to jump but there are still offensive linemen out there in free agency.
Matt Feiler Gabe Jackson Larry Warford Riley Reiff Oday Aboushi Mitchell Schwartz Zach Banner and of course Trent Williams.

You’re pretty behind...
NY cut him, and Baltimore just signed him. It’s also been reported by Tyler Dragon our offer was not competitive with theirs.
I’m sure you’ll find a way to homer-spin it to not being their fault though.

Crazy that we couldn't make a competitive offer when he signed for like 7.3 mil
Guess we just make some low ball offers hoping someone bites and if they don't then they can say they "tried", sad stuff, but it is predictable at this point.

So it is time to over pay an o-line player that is just in it for the cash? That makes sense.... Great way to build a team. Albert Haynesworth says hello. :)

Yeah. Obviously, we need to make some moves on the OL. However, we're 8 hours into the tampering period and there's still a good number of quality starters out there. I don't see the need for panic.
