Maybe he can secretly catch a clean ball, tackle, or is putting on some weight to play on the line? RE: Ryan Rehkow - ChaseThis - 09-09-2024 Easily the biggest positive from yesterday and it wasn't close. Cut Robbins now for all I care. I'd rather have this guy who can boom it and keep guys retreating other than handing them great field position. Burrow was confused with so much time to throw RE: Ryan Rehkow - Bengal Dude - 09-11-2024 Rehkow did an amazing job. What's funny is the beat writers noted that Rehkow wasn't separating himself from McNamara and Robbins during camp. They figured if the competition was close, the job would go to Robbins by default. They said that he would look decent and then have a couple of bad consecutive punts. It sounds like Rehkow has the opposite problem of the past few punters. The end of Huber, Chrisman, and Robbins were all said to do great in practice and then struggle in the game. Rehkow seems to be iffy in practice, but he's locked in during the game. A quality punter would be so nice to have. RE: Ryan Rehkow - 125250 - 09-11-2024 Maybe he can play some other positions too. Need a tight end that can catch and one that doesn’t celebrate too early. RE: Ryan Rehkow - Yogo - 09-11-2024 So maybe Matt Araiza really isn't the Punt God after all? RE: Ryan Rehkow - reuben.ahmed - 09-11-2024 Motivation is everything and Zac doesn't know how to do that, our punter had something to play for, it's good to have someone that can steal your job. Rehkow is going to get way more opportunities to show off his leg than Araiza will throughout the season, unfortunately. RE: Ryan Rehkow - Wyche'sWarrior - 09-11-2024 Dude was booming it for sure. That 80 yarder was insane. I say keep him and dump Robbins. Shades of Lechler. RE: Ryan Rehkow - RegularGuy22 - 09-11-2024 (09-11-2024, 07:17 AM)125250 Wrote: He will ride the pine this week. The game Sunday you could see a clear difference. Robbins could never have a game like that. Rehkow wont have games like that every week but its nice to know we have a punter that at least has the ability to flip the field. Usually we dont need all 8 IR spots but you would hate for this year to be the year we end up with a bunch of small injuries. Imagine needing that 8th IR spot to bring a valuable player back but cant because you used it on one of the worst punters in the NFL. I still dont understand why the Bengals did that. As it is we have already used 3 on Robbins, Murphy and Jackson. That leaves us 5 for the rest of the regular season. RE: Ryan Rehkow - ochocincos - 09-11-2024 I know Rehk had 2 punts that went for touchbacks, but man that one was SOOOO close to going out at the 1 yard line. Just barely got into the EZ. I don't expect Rehk to keep up a 60+ YPP average, but I think he'll be in the low 50's or high 40's if kept for most of the season. Ryan Stonehouse has been leading the league in YPP the past two years when he entered the league. Both seasons he's had 53.1. In the first game this year, Stonehouse is at 53.6. In recent years, a few guys are hitting 50+, so that's the metric to aim for now. Robbins is not getting 50+. He'll be lucky to get 47. |
