I never noticed Burton on the field.

RE: PFF Grades - Week 1 Pats - Frank Booth - 09-09-2024

Yea they may have lost and played like crap, BUT VOLSON HATERS IN SHAMBLES.

I love the Cincinnati Volsons

Trent Brown really looked bad in pass protection yesterday. I hope Mims has a shot to return.

Chase hauled in a 28 yarder and Yoshi drew a PI for 20 yards where the DB grabbed Yoshi to prevent a TD.

I can't say much for the Bengals D. You know they're going to run the friggen ball and you still can't stop it? Jesus, we suck at stopping the run. And from what I seen on pass D?  Atrocious. I swear (although I had partaken in a few hundred beers yesterday) we didn't challenge their receivers. Every time they threw it, there wasn't a defender within 4-5yds of the receiver. Where's the friggen pressure? Lou's a suck fest just as bad as Marvin (Zac) Taylor.

Honestly, good for him. Hope he can put together an ok season. Too bad Cappa is a problem now. Definitely gonna need Volson to step it up for real. Otherwise, typical bengals o-line stuff

Sam Hubbard had the lowest pass rush grade of anyone, didn’t record 1 pass rush win(according to PFF) and started at DE and played all game….

This is something that wasn’t supposed to happen on his current contract. Hubbard and Cappa are done. I was on Cappa’s ass all last year and ppl kept saying Volson, Volson, Volson. Watch the All-22s of some of last years games bro. Cappa was HORRIBLE some games and average most games. The price we got him for was an appropriate price and it’s no wonder TB wasn’t killing themselves to resign him.

The AFCN games will be a bloodbath if he doesn’t.

Those TE numbers.

Only 1 skill position player with a grade over 60 should be a massive wake up call to the "best WR corps we've had in years", crowd. We've got Chase, Tee, and a bunch of scrubs.

Been saying that some people are gonna owe Tyler Boyd an apology... And your assessment is spot on.

He probably got some cardio in on ST.

Ossai only had 3 pass rush attempts, he needs more chances.

We might see Hubbard less once Murphy is back.
Either turn Hubbard into a 2-down guy or kick him inside with Hendrickson and Murphy/Ossai outside.
This worked well for Hubbard earlier in his career at least.

Boyd was targeted 6 times, had 3 receptions for 18 yards and a 60.2 PFF grade.  You really think he would have helped?

Only if we are saying that Joe Burrow and Will Levis are the same caliber of QB and the Bengals and the Titans have the same caliber of roster... and coaches.

I'd like to see them invest #1 picks in TEs. My long-run GM thinking is sign Chase, invest in TEs, and don't overpay for WR2. Duke and Zac should cross their fingers that Burrow can find his TE to duplicate Brady/Gronk, Mahomes/Kelce, or even Purdy/Kittle.

According to the Urban Dictionary, 'cockwomble' is derogatory British slang for a person, usually male, who is prone to making outrageously stupid statements and-or inappropriate behaviour while having a very high opinion of their own wisdom and importance.

Boyd is washed and we arguably held on too long.   The problem isn't letting him leave.  The problem is not doing enough to replace him.  Re-signing Turd-win, spending a couple of Day 3 picks on Faux-Shi and Chuck Drizzle, and making a last gasp attempt by spending a 3td rounder on a guy with known maturity issues who turns out to have maturity issues isn't getting it done.

Better pray Burton gets his shit together quick or this offense is in real trouble.

After watching Lamar ignore him all Thursday night, I might be seeing what the Rats would be willing to take for Andrews.  And yeah, we'd have to overpay because of the same division, but sometimes you've gotta overpay to get what you need.

Sloppy. Nothing more needs to be said about the week.
