He didn't look confident and seemed to have lacked the courage he once had. This team was not focused yesterday from top to bottom. Hopefully this is a wakeup call and we come back next week overflowing with pride in our team for bouncing back and beating the KC Swifties. However, if the spread is less than 7, I'm betting on KC because they got their shit together.

The OL was fine outside of Trent Brown.

His best play of the day was a PI call.

bad energy in bengaldom if fans think Yoshi is a #2 lol

I was trying to be nice by saying there is some room for improvement.  :)

They knew his hamstring injury was a chronic issue. Even if fans didn't realize it yet, they had to know.

And Tee. Well he should have jumped on the offer they had on the table.

Yeah. We see how good we've been without Higgins over the last 365 days, and trading him would've allowed us to draft some more DJ Turner/ Jackson Carman types.

Not sure if he is seeing ghosts or what but he needs to pull it together and play to his well deserved reputation. What we saw was NOT Joe being Cool or courageous and standing in the pocket.

He does it every year the first few games.

No, they were not. Did not meet the hype we were expecting. Burrow pressured all day.

I think he can. He will be more involved in the practice this week. You will see a better performance. Although I can't guarantee it, I like the kid. Burrow has great things to say about him as well. Although, right now, that doesn't mean a lot.

Quote:Next Gen stat of the game: Joe Burrow was pressured on just 6 of 35 dropbacks, good for his third-lowest pressure rate faced in a game in his career (17.1%). He averaged 5.6 yards per attempt when not under pressure, his lowest mark in a game since Week 6, 2023, against the Seahawks (5.0). Burrow was sacked three times and completed just one of his two pass attempts for 13 yards when under pressure.

Also that is what is so disappointing.  The pass protection was decent but apparently no one was getting open down field.

He was only pressured a handful of times. Nobody is hyping that line though minus some fans that got excited that they recognized Trent Brown's name.

you think he can be as good as Higgins? Because this team only works with Burrow throwing to 2 great receivers. This team doesnt even have a legit #3. And Gesicki honestly wishes he was Hayden Hurst

You need to pump the breaks on Yoshi. This team has a wide receiver problem

RE: Higgins to miss week 2 (Chiefs)? - NUGDUKWE - 09-09-2024

The Bengals brought this one themselves. Not saying Tee is faking the injury. But you tag Bates and he says after that it affected his head and play on the field. So not only do you do it again but then follow the same road with Tee. Then toss in you have your #1 WR miss all camp trying to get a deal just to be aw shucks we can't get that deal done maybe next year. Obviously we're gonna lose to the Chiefs. I just hope we don't get Burrow hurt just trying to get thru this game.

well seeing as Cappa is now a liability, and the RT spot is looking to be as awful as it was in 2021... Let's just hope he survives

I don't know if Cappa is quite a liability. But I definitely think they will let Chris Jones get some tries at Trent Brown. Getting thru the game healthy and trying to get into a rhythm on offense will be what I'm looking to see. Hopefully tackle a bit better on defense.

Many players get tagged and have very good years since they know other teams are going to be looking at them.  Im done worrying about Burrow since that is the life of any QB plus he has gotten hurt without the line being the issue and now our line is so much better than it was when he came into the league.  It performed better over the weekend than any other unit.

We shall see. If I eat crow, I eat crow. No big deal. Just have faith in the kid.

Would be reassuring to see him throw for 250-300 yds and a couple TD's even if they lose to KC.  ** Meant my response for Essex but yes, agree on the mental aspect.

Well, Burrow had exactly one series of football since November of last year. Shame Zac didn't get him some more work in preseason games to get him adjusted for the regular season.

RE: Higgins to miss week 2 (Chiefs)? - THE PISTONS - 09-09-2024

They should try to trade Tee for picks.

RE: Higgins to miss week 2 (Chiefs)? - RegularGuy22 - 09-09-2024

I don't buy Burrow hasn't had time in real game action. If he is really an elite NFL QB he isn't playing like one. Mahomes doesn't have these games where he looks lost. Joe had a full preseason and he said he felt great on Friday so what the hell happened Sunday against what many called the worst team in the league with 2 good starters out? Same thing happened last year against Texans, they were missing half their starters and they trounced us. Remember? Something is wrong in Bengal land. Too many times they lose and look FLAT and unprepared and it seems like it is with different players each year too. I gotta look at the coaches first.

Joe was seeing pressure that wasn’t there.
