I was gonna say, for someone who was supposedly an administrator at a large hospital, his spelling and formatting is atrocious. I would expect someone who rises to that level should have an education that provided a much better ability to express yourself coherently.

Of course, when he made the claim, he spelled the name wrong...so there's that.

RE: THE DRAFT - Synric - 04-26-2025

The Bengals really allowed Al Golden to put his stamp on the draft especially with the Demetrius Knight pick. Of course if the Bengals miss the playoffs for a 3rd year in a row likely the entire coaching staff is gone.

It's a Bold Strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em.

anyways, God bless

Bad rosters do not play in one of NFL's toughest divisions and go 9-8 and lose a lot of games by less than 7 points.

Eery NFL roster has major weaknesses, ours was due to injury and talent on defense.

Yep - looks like he wants some versatility and guys he thinks can play 3 downs. He talked about Knight being able to line up on the edge and Stewart has experience moving inside. Excited to see what he does and some of the looks/blitzes he able to use with these guys.

And if the D still sucks then it could be a very short tenure for this defensive staff…

Everyone and their mother knows it was the passing game that carried that entire season to above .500

only the biggest most blind homers think the roster wasnt bad.

God bless the homers. Truly a special, special bunch

This team..aside from injuries to Burrow and a dozen and one half other players the past two years would once again have been in super Bowl consideration.

.We have a very good team and now ..organization.. Yet...I think so many of us have ..over the years been accustomed to such poor results, we  relied heavily on us drafting "BIG NAME" players in the draft.. At the same time the very successful teams just drafted some players  to fill certain needs and continued to move forward.

This team needed some oomph on the DL..they got a player that has really good potential..This team needed to add that same oomph @ linebacker..ditto..this team needed a solid player @ guard..we drafted such...All three will add to completion for positions which is a good thing

And ..again. aside from the top 12-15 players in the draft..the talent and skill level of all the remaining players is not remarkably different

And finally..to attach a grade to players that were drafted the past 2 days is ridiculous..Some of these lessor known players may prove to be superstars in the NFL and some of the big names will be busts..or medicore

Bengals did ok..And..let us not forget..when final cuts are made this summer there will be a plethora of really good players available..

Just my thoughts

We all know that no matter what the team does, there are 4 or 5 posters who will complain about it. We need a pass rusher, we got one. COMPLAIN. We need a guard, we got one that evidently can't be moved in pass pro..COMPLAIN. Thats all they want to do.

I also agree I love the passion of our fan base, just wish we can focus on 2025 and leave any past failures behind.

I wish i still had the ability to do that. At this point in my life, if the organization is counting on this, i see it more as a slap in the face than an enduring optimism.

I may not be the smartest guy in the room but i know i'm smart enough to see how things work and how things don't work. When i see a team that operates almost the opposite of other successful organizations and they continue to do it stubbornly, in the face of a continuing outcome of failure, i have a problem sitting by and accepting that.

When i see a team way behing in modern amenities, who takes years to catch up, only to have the current MO be different, requiring them to catch up years down the road again...when i see a team with the smallest scouting department in the NFL, who continually fails to draft players outside the top 5 who produce for years, continue to try and re-invent the wheel by drafting player B instead of player A...when i see a team hold on to bad players and bad coaches because they don't want to pay someone for not doing work anymore...when i see a team argue for every single penny and not want to operate the way virtually every other organization operates, ending up paying players milliions more in the end because they weren't smart enough to sign them when they were cheaper...when i see a team fail to realize the the most important thing for a franchise QB is to protect him but instead signs more high priced weapons...

I could go on but what's the use? This team wants and expects fans to "leave any past failures behind" because it allows them to operate the exact same failing way they've operated for decades and maybe they'll get lucky and fall into a championship because the law of large numbers dictates it. The one thing the law of large numbers doesn't dictate is the length of time it takes for something random to even out.

"Evil prospers when good men do nothing"

Go ahead and sit by quietly, refreshing your optimism every year, year after year. Hoping that this is finally the year we break through and get that elusive championship. It's your right as a fan.

I won't sit by quietly, believing they're smarter and know what they're doing, when i have decades of results that show they don't.

This is the problem with you guys. Just because we drafted an edge doesn’t mean we got a pass rusher. They took a guy with zero production and even less instincts. He runs fast and jumps high.
Yes we got a guard, we also got one when we drafted Volson….the guard we got was the 2nd or 3rd best on his college team.

Lots of reasons this team underperformed in ‘24. The slow start(s) are killing this team. That’s on Zac. Burrow wasn’t hurt last year. But poor drafting and poor free agency selections are the reason. Bengal fans have every right to critique what’s going on.

But the root cause is ownership. They act like the generation coming out of the depression. In 1950 they still think they are in it. Had they signed Trey, Tee, and Jamar sooner they’d have been fine. Had some cap space. They got aggressive in FA after Burrow tore his ACL. They got aggressive in FA defense after Taylor’s first year when they got obliterated. They’ve got to hit on more players in both FA & the draft. They aren’t.

They were 9-8 because Burrow, Chase, Tee and Trey were so outrageously good that it kept them from finishing 5-12

ew stop the negativity and go root for pittsburgh

I'm not sure we have added enough talent on defense to help us get to the Super Bowl.  Hopefully Ossai continues where he left off with the sacks and the other younger guys are better with more experience.  I wouldn't be completely surprised if the defense makes a big jump this year but I don't really expect to see it.

perhaps you should get current..the Bengals have gone 40-27 the past 4 years with both Superbowl and AFC title game appearances....they have spent a ton of money on players..they have recently gotten rid of some bad coaches.and players...

I would certainly encourage him to bring all his degrees by though. I'm just a lowly locksmith who only graduated high school and works at the one and only lock shop in Norwood ohio. I'm the shop manager and i'm there every day and my name is Rick.

He's welcome to stop by and brag about his many accomplishments any day, M-F 9-5:30.

18-16 the last 2 years. No playoffs either year. That's more current.
