RE: Cincinnati Bengals receive an F- in food for its players - Shake n Blake - 07-10-2024 I'm glad the info is out there, but I'm not really bothered much by this. If our players were in relatively poor condition due to nutrition, it'd be a problem, but they're not. If our team performance was abysmal, I may point to this, but clearly it's not. Obviously I'd prefer we get high grades across the board in such categories, but when your team has been to 7 playoffs, 2 AFC title games and a Super Bowl in 13 years, and the other teams at the bottom of that list include Pittsburgh, KC and Buffalo, it kinda takes the steam out of your um...steam. If these results are still the same in 5 years and the team is massively underperforming, maybe we can revisit the topic then. Until then, I'll just say that F- food in the NFL is probably the most amazing F- food on the planet. But your signature says: "The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not" Does it mean we can't improve with better nutrition? We didn't win a superbowl yet, imagine if nutrition was the reason - lol. I think the only time we have any excuse is if we won a superbowl, but even though they will think "we need to get better or we can't repeat". Obviously nutrition has come a long way since the 70's, 80's and even 90's. The worst teams now probably eat far better than the best teams of previous era's. I'd also say that the difference between an A+ team and an F- team in this era is probably marginal in contrast to comparing era's. It's not like our players are eating low grade cheeseburgers and hot pockets. A "Nutritionist" is not going to be a Paycor preparing food. They are not chefs or line cooks. A nutritionist is simply a guide to educate a person on what to eat and what not to eat to reach certain goals... ie weight gain, weight loss, and staying at a certain weight. It's still up to the individual to eat properly. I'm quite sure Chad had a nutritionist at one point, but he ate McDonalds anyway. RE: Cincinnati Bengals receive an F- in food for its players - Millhouse - 07-12-2024 Not surprised but honestly thought this wouldn't be a thing nowadays. I figured all these franchises would have proper food and nutrition on site for the players everyday they are there.
