We could have won the game without those for sure, but, that doesnt change the most obvious issues: I've never liked ZT's 12 carries and less game plans. Go back thru the game logs and there's a bunch of such games. Carries by the RB's of course. Don't include QB scrambles and WR end around sweeps. And perhaps I'm wrong ? But it sure seems the entire team could care less about running the ball and it shows. The opponents know it as well. He’s not a bad player, and definitely shouldn’t be cut. He made a mental mistake, that’s it. Still think he plays better than what he showed yesterday. The whole team was ass. Dline couldn’t get pressure and couldn’t stop the run for shit. We need that guy on D that wreaks havoc like every team in our division. Offense has its own issues. How none of these receivers can get open blows my mind. Too many check downs, zero shots down field and not getting Chase involved early is frustrating. Play calling is predictable and always short of the first down marker. Oline was a little better in the 2nd half but still seems to regress under Pollack. Piss poor tackling, game planning, play calling and the lack of prepareness has doomed us again on opening day. They better fix this shit fast. IDK, looks like he's got it just fine to me, until the defender lands on him. I don't consider another human landing on him part of "surviving the ground", but the rules are the rules. Well, I tried to post a clip of the replay.. RE: Tanner Hudson - SunsetBengal - 09-09-2024 (09-09-2024, 12:30 PM)bengalfan74 Wrote: I've never liked ZT's 12 carries and less game plans. The sad part is that on the drive that they actually committed to the run, it was working very well. I'll not be looking for Moss to break one for 60 yds, but he can definitely get up field with a purpose. At 0:11 in that video, he hits the ground and the ball goes from being tucked in at his side to shooting down to his groin. So it's moving and not secured. Then at 0:13 you can see his hand is not under the ball when he rolls over top of it and the ball is on the ground and you can see it roll about 45 degrees on the ground (you can tell from the laces moving around) before he re-secures it. That's an incompletion. RE: Tanner Hudson - GodFather - 09-09-2024 (09-09-2024, 09:29 AM)SunsetBengal Wrote: Let's not play "pin the tail on the donkey". Hudson also made a spectacular one handed catch. Besides, if the ball hadn't jarred loose from Gesicki's grip on the previous play, we're likely having an entirely different discussion today. This pretty much nails it. And surprise surprise it won't be fixed by next Sunday against the Chiefs. It will be ugly. First win will come against the Redskins in week 3. Starting 1-2...which is Groundhogs Day with Taylor as HC RE: Tanner Hudson - t3r3e3 - 09-09-2024 (09-09-2024, 09:34 AM)casear2727 Wrote: I never blamed the game on Hudson. Im not a Hudson fan and his lack of awareness simply reveals that he is not a primetime player. Joe completed 72% of his passes with no turnovers. Hard to blame Joe for dudes fumbling, dudes not catching passes, the o line’s atrocious blocking, the defense sucking balls, and Zac’s lack of creativity. He faced the 3rd lowest pass rush in his entire career and immediately checked down all game. The last 3 plays on offense were horrendous and mostly on Joe. He apparently checked out of many run plays that obviously didnt work and averaging 5 yards per attempt is not acceptable in high school. I hope he gets it together. RE: Tanner Hudson - RunKijanaRun - 09-09-2024 He and Jones should both be on the practice squad. Check the completion chart. He was awful. RE: Tanner Hudson - Boomer Anderson - 09-09-2024 Really hope that McLachlan gets a shot. The tape on that guy at Arizona was incredible. He looks extremely athletic. He's young and I do believe that there is a reason that several teams have cut/passed on Hudson. I don't know if Burrow is checking out of runs, I'm thinking no since he's in shotgun most of the time still, but he's being given multiple plays and checking out of them according to Goodberry. Playing in The shot gun all the time, makes it easy to Defend. What happened to play action, what happened to Chase out of the backfield. Receivers are just not good enough to get open, and with Chase double teamed, there is no where to throw the ball, hence the dump off for a 5 yard pass.
