Very physical and can do it all, fantastic pass protector and pass catcher. (01-01-2025, 06:56 PM)Isaac Curtis: The Real #85 Wrote: If he is thete Day 3, I am in. Kaleb Johnson from Iowa is also great, but that is gonna be Rd2, too rich for a RB. Katron Allen is a good player as well and so is Devin Neal, man, really liking this RB Draft. Kaleb Johnson of course is a good one as well. Skattebo is my favorite RB behind Ashton Jeanty though, I just love his physicality and don't think he will be around day 3. Guys that I think could be on our radar are: Surprised Jonah Coleman is only 230 pounds, he looks 250 but fast for a bowling ball. RE: I want a physical back next year - chopperbobby - 01-01-2025 I want a defense that doesn’t suck. My fear is after a good showing against 2 bad offenses and last week against a good offense The front office will think we are good at defense.. it only took what 14 weeks to get to the crap defense we have. Having said that I wouldn't be against a very late round bruiser back pick just to see what he could bring to the table? I totally agree and think we should give the kid on PS Milton a shot too. How about another tight end? Ooh what about another wide receiver?!? Only offensive players who can score touchdowns because that is all I know. I love fantasy football!!! Of course we should grab a RB, still a very thin position for us and unless im wrong, Herbert is a FA after this season, love to look a more pounding back in the draft.. As for TE, i hope the merry go round ends with Gesicki and we can afford to resign him.. if not that mean a different starting tight end for Burrows in 5 seasons .. crazy RE: I want a physical back next year - Isaac Curtis: The Real #85 - 01-02-2025 (01-02-2025, 03:18 PM)rfaulk34 Wrote: If they're happy with Brown and Herbert for next year, drafting a bigger back isn't a bad idea. Yep. I am all in at getting elite players at any position. If you have a shot to get one, get one. Lock that sh!te up for four years. Even if it is at a lesser spot or a niche spot like FB/big back. To my eyes, Skatteboo looks like he could be elite in that role. I don't mind me some Pete Johnson, Ickey Woods, Boobie Clark, Larry Kinnebrew FB vibes. More than the player, that kind of pick would signal to me, a change in attitude/philosophy on O. For it to make any sense at all, we'd need to upgrade both G spots. At least 1 in FA. The other one in the draft or in FA also. For my money, we need the following in the trenches: 1) IOL = 2 starters. Both guards. Or a G + C if we kick Karras out to LG. If we think Lee is ready, maybe only 1. I am not gambling a year of Burrow/Tee/Chase prime on it. 2) DT. 2 starter level guys. Plus maybe another rotation guy. We need 4 rotation level guys, and I am willing to count Jackson & Jenkins. But as starters? IDK. Rankins needs to be cut, Hill is a FA, and Tufele is a PS level guy. DT is a tough spot for rookies to shine, so I'd want at least 1 FA signing for the right price. Hill, Poona Ford, Tart, etc. 3) DE. 1 starter to replace Hubbard. And 1 rotation piece to join Murphy and Johnson. Ossai & Cam Sample were not terrible. A healthy Hubbard MIGHT do as a rotation piece on a renegotiated contract. I do notcsee a many starter level guys beyond Mack & Sweat in FA. Amd I do not think a 1stcround level guy will be around at 16-18 at DE. We could carry 6 at DT or DE instead of 5. Still, that is 6 spots in the trenches. Maybe 7. I'd want 2 big/significant ones in FA, one on each side of the ball. 1-2 medium/small ones (Ossai-ish), and the rest in the draft. Let's say, for the sake of argument, a stud like Starks or Warren are sitting there in Rd1. I'd take either over any of the DL guys I think will be there (Scourton, Grant, Harmon, Nolen). But then we could trench up 2-4 and get decent guys at IOL/DT/DE. You must be watching every down other than 3rd/4th down. Brown is NOT a power back.210 lbs. is NOT a big RB. He does NOT move the pyle. He does NOT inflict punishment on defenders. Nothing wrong with that as he's turning into an excellent overall RB but almost all teams in the NFL have a ying and a yang to mix it up.Guy with different styles. Hell, until they picked up the RB from the Bears they only had Williams and didn't even trust him enough to get him damn near even one carry. Brown had not had more than a dozen carries in a game until the Raiders game and they ran him 30 times. And you say they have no issues at RB? What universe, bro? If we do and a guy like Tyler Warren drops to us, I see him being an all-pro TE for many years. We also need to adress guard in FA and cut Cappa. Then in round 2 take the best available guard. I don't know about fixing "many" issues on defense, but they can keep things from getting worse by re-signing two of our own in BJ Hill and Mike Hilton. They could feasibly solve the Safety issue in free agency, but you know how the Bengals management sees paying top Safety talent... Either way, there are too many holes to "fix" them all via free agency, or the draft realistically. They can prevent new holes from opening and likely add a new talent or two to help stop the bleeding. The youth of the defense actually has a little promise to it, the D tackles have flashed well for rookies, Dax Hill and DJ Turner should be recovered from their injuries.
