You have done nothing but sh!t on Burrow this season.  This is so pathetic.

This is just empty rhetoric. Any chance you're willing to further support the statement? I'm interested in how you reached your conclusion that having a great player isn't always necessary.

Kicking snap/hold operations that lead to actual points that make difference in 1 score games are far more important for us.

Robbins was never drafted for his leg. He was drafted because they thought they had the offense they have now. And with their ability to score or get into FG range every drive, yall holding dear to a big leg punter is a wasted resource if it means a shaky kicking operation, career lows from our star kicker, and holding your breath in game winning FG attempts.

If we punt we should be punting from around the 45 at worst. and those kicks will fall where they need to with Robbins. Now can he flip the field no. But you don't build a team around a punter. You build an offense that makes punting a moot point. Which we have.

Again, i'll repeat.

There is no reason for concern at this point. Those issues, if they continue, will be dealt with after it becomes a real problem. There is no need to replace a guy that has made 1 mistake when he's the best in the NFL at his actual job.

Anything about how comfortable Money is, is made up. That would have been dealt with in-house, before the season started, if it were a problem.

It comes down to performing under pressure. It was a game winning kick, Rekow folded. Hopefully it won't happen again.

No, I showed that he's not currently struggling anymore or less than he has in year's past.

(10-11-2024, 12:15 PM)jj22 Wrote: And you blame Money for his other misses. Which ok, if that's how you feel you are entitled to your opinion. Be bold and say it. Don't let the fellow peanut gallery make you fear speaking your truth. I applaud you for putting the blame at McPhersons feet. Now do I agree. Of course not. Money has been money from 40-49. Suddenly he misses? Badly?

First off, I only blame McPherson because on the 2 misses he's had this year because I don't know whose fault they are. We know that Rekhow's bad hold is the reason for the most recent, but until other evidence is present, I just put the blame on Evan.

Mort importantly, again, he's only had 3 misses this season, 1 of which we know is due to the hold. So that's 2 misses on 24 kicking attempts. Even adding in the 3rd miss, how is that McPherson "suddenly missing badly"?

(10-11-2024, 12:15 PM)jj22 Wrote: And you bring up 22. Which I already know and long stated he struggle with Crisman as a holder (that's how I know his struggles revolve around his comfort and trust in the operation). It was the one great thing about Robbins. The improved operations that showed in Money's bounce back season of 2023.

We also had a new long snapper that season. But as someone who clearly doesn't watch Bengals games, I can understand how you didn't know that.

Yeah, well, at least I provide evidence to back up my claims and don't try to change the definitions of words to make my argument more cogent

This has been the most entertaining thread I've seen on here in a long time.

Thank you. I do my part.

Typically lending my name, image, and likeness to a thread guarantees a respectable number of pages.

I’m basing it on our high powered offense that shouldn’t be punting enough to make a difference especially at the expense of kicking FG’s. Do we really need a great punter?

The lack of faith in Burrow from the Burrow haters is telling.

“Bad takes” today.

Fans complaints next month. I’ve read this book before.

Not a knock on any individual or nationality, but rather imagery drawing a parallel between those rushing to cheap and bad takes while drunk on emotion from watching a team that was expected to have great success struggle mightily. Drunk people, weather drunk by influence of alcohol or by emotion are often apt to make poor judgmental decisions, similar to when settlers used alcohol to weaken the judgement of the native Americans when they convinced them to sell Manhattan Island for a song and some beads.

The difference being that many of these bad takes are all looking for a scapegoat, a singular person or entity to shoulder much of the blame for a loss, when in reality the losses have been team losses with blame to go across many shoulders. It's easy to want to pin the blame for this last defeat on the rookie punter dropping the ball. Sure, I bet he'd like to have that play back to do over, just as I'm sure that Burrow would like to have a couple of snaps back to do over and the defense, well the defense would likely want to have a bunch of snaps back to do over.  There is no one, singular person or thing to blame. The team needs to get well, as a team and move forward.

No doubt that you have read comments from fellow posters regarding how bad your takes are, and have been.  But hey, we are finally in agreement about something!

But, yeah, let's get rid of the league's best punter (as of this moment) because he supposedly stinks on holding for kicks. Rolleyes

Wonder how long it would take another team to grab him if we did release him lol.  Hilarious Hilarious

I'm not sure if you are implying I'm a Burrow hater or not. I'm not nor have posted anything to indicate I am. Maybe you're speaking about other posters?

Regardless, talking about Burrow isn't relevant to your initial comments about punting or needing a great punter. Yes, we need a great punter. There is no substantive reasoning to your position. Again, can you actually clarify your point about not needing a great player?
