Led the ACC his senior year iirc, I like the move. As you and Synric noted....if it does nothing more than keep Williams off the field, it's a home run. That worries me some because Williams cannot pass pro either in nearly yet. Joe burrow killed last game. Still he's very similar to mixing in terms of running style. According to Joe Goodbury. he isnt a good pass protector. But he is better at it than Chase Brown and Trayveon Williams RE: Bengals trade 7th round pick for Bears RB Khalil Herbert - SunsetBengal - 11-05-2024 (Yesterday, 01:38 PM)psychdoctor Wrote: Bears fans say his pass-pro is poor. In defense of his lack of pass blocking development, Justin Fields wasn't exactly a pocket passer while he was with the Bears. A little tough to develop any consistency when your QB is always flying around the field, like a squirrel. Exactly, Justin Fields is notorious for his poor pocket presence and awareness coupled with lots of dancing in the backfield and taking off prematurely to run also. Meaning at best it'll move you up 3-4 spots in the 6th. I am not sure how that is too much... Completely agree. This is good value for Herbert who is a proven RB with skills that got a raw deal in Chicago as you said earlier. Nice move by the Bengals. Need a pass rusher now and we would be much better off. RE: Bengals trade 7th round pick for Bears RB Khalil Herbert - XenoMorph - 11-05-2024 a 7th rounder to address an area of need is a small price to pay RE: Bengals trade 7th round pick for Bears RB Khalil Herbert - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 11-05-2024 (Yesterday, 02:54 PM)XenoMorph Wrote: a 7th rounder to address an area of need is a small price to pay True, cannot believe Weezy saying it was close to even too big of a price. Right many times those are practice squad picks if they make the squad at all RE: Bengals trade 7th round pick for Bears RB Khalil Herbert - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 11-05-2024 (Yesterday, 02:58 PM)XenoMorph Wrote: Right many times those are practice squad picks if they make the squad at all Yes, maybe Simmons might be a little mad about it as those are ST's picks at best. Still, Herbert could help on ST's. Idk if anyone saw Williams last week in pass protection he let a defender in on a free rush and got blow up once and got Burrow killed. Herbert is horrible on 3rd down too, but I like him better than Moss in general. RE: Bengals trade 7th round pick for Bears RB Khalil Herbert - masonbengals fan - 11-05-2024 Had to get a back with Moss getting injured. Hope it works out. A 7th is steep compared to what everyone else is trading for quality guys. I mean he has taken literally 27 snaps all year. Wtf? You literally cannot give up less than a 7th. He filled in admirably when called upon and he already understands what it takes to be a pro. This is easily a good get for a team that is still suspect at RB. It's a 7th rounder for a tenured, seasoned pro! Absolutely zero risk and they know what they're getting. This is a potential steal for the football watching impaired. And you know how much the Bengals love bargains. RE: Bengals trade 7th round pick for Bears RB Khalil Herbert - The D.O.Z. - 11-05-2024 I like it. He’s a low mileage guy who has languished in CHI. Iirc he can return kicks and punts too, in case Charlie Jones is hurt. I just hope they actually play him and not take forever “getting him up to speed”, the sooner Williams is pushed off this roster the better. Didn’t that guy we poached off the Eagles (?) practice squad see a few snaps in the Raiders game?
