RE: Joe Burrow playing GM - jj22 - 12-14-2024 There is no SB or AFCC run without 6 of those 10 picks. We are talking big moments, big stops, big kicks, and key plays. RE: Joe Burrow playing GM - Frank Booth - 12-14-2024 that 21 draft is the difference between a super bowl and an afc championship everyone besides chase and mcpherson is a F RE: Joe Burrow playing GM - Isaac Curtis: The Real #85 - 12-14-2024 (12-13-2024, 06:27 PM)Synric Wrote: IOL, TE, then RB. The reason the Bengals are spreading it out and throwing it on 3rd and short is because they don't trust their blocking and can't create 7 man surfaces. Yep. And really, out two "best" OL are both awful run blockers. Take a gander: Position, Player, PFF grades (Rank), Total/PB/RB OT (133): OBJ, 58.7/71.4/48.2 (87/47/120) OT (133): Mims, 57.7/58.3/56.0 (90/83/97) OT (133): T. Cam Sample had a big stop in the Titans game. Can't remember if it was on Henry around the goal line or maybe a 4th down stop somewhere in the game. Looks like 3rd and 1 from our 35, for a 0 yard gain by Ryan Tannehill (failed qb sneak?) with 8 minutes left in the game. Next down Logan Wilson and Markus Bailey tackled Derrick Henry for -2 yards on 4th down. Yep. I just went back and looked and that's the one. It was an RPO that Tann kept. RE: Joe Burrow playing GM - NUGDUKWE - 12-14-2024 I think/hope the Bengals have realized that trying to wait until all the chips fall to decide which contracts to pay just isn't working. You have to recognize your key players and pay them and do your best to fill in the spots around them. I would've thought paying tee just a little while ago was never going to happen. Now I think it may very well happen. Tee definitely is one of our talented players and even with missing time he will not be easily replaced. RE: Joe Burrow playing GM - jj22 - 12-14-2024 Carman held down the left side for the post season run in 2022. Finally carrying his weight. Playing at his natural position he never had a shot at solidifying (if Pollack can make Ford serviceabe at LT after struggling at all other positions….) Without Shelvin Mahomes takes the lead late and there is no SB. Shelvin also shined against Tennessee. Big game Shelvin as Burrow and co called him at lsu, showed why in that 2022 run. And Ossai had a great 2022 post season run. RE: Joe Burrow playing GM - jj22 - 12-14-2024 You guys are going to have to let me know your A+ drafts so I can see what those players did for us in postseason Championship runs. I remember when so many on here were convinced that he was going to be the most dominant Guard. But, but he was a bargain in the 2nd round, Paul Alexander said so... I would be on board with that as well. Trade him to NE for Barmore. He's been hurt this year but he's still a stud. Priority 1, 2, and maybe 3 on offense should be fixing it and keeping Burrow from getting murdered. Chase Brown has played well this year, and in terms of advanced metrics, is outperforming Mixon and his bloated contract. I’d argue shoring up WR is also more important than RB2. The Bengals can find another RB, but unless we’re talking an elite RB, it’s a low priority. For a good number of years PA was a great OL coach and evaluator of talent. It was sad to see him not recognizing the subtle changes in talent evaluation toward the end of his career with the Bengals, but that's no reason to disrespect him in that fashion. People bash Paul Alexander constantly but then give Willie a pash when he vouches for some total bust.
