I have seen he had a nice visit and will stay in touch. Whether he was offered a contract could be a myth. Them lowballing potential suitors is not a myth. 1/2 point for each of us? If not, call us and the offer is still on the table. Or maybe they didn't make an offer, who knows. I have no issue with speculation, but not a fan of jumping to bashing the FO with a myth. I know I am on an island and many more FO haters exist, but being in the minority and getting constantly attacked for being honest does not deter me. So have at it FO haters, start your peronal attacks...............again as moderators seem to be in the majority with you so will allow those attacks RE: Noah Fant Visiting - Luvnit2 - 07-25-2025 (Yesterday, 03:15 PM)rfaulk34 Wrote: Whether he was offered a contract could be a myth. So no, this is and was about Fant so no points for you from me, but your many shared FO haters will love you, mabe give you the best FO hater award in 2025. ![]() RE: Noah Fant Visiting - XsandOs - 07-25-2025 (Yesterday, 03:05 PM)Sled21 Wrote: Well, that's kind of what I meant. NFL Teams don't pay for travel, car service, hotel room and meal expenses, unless they want a player. They know what a vet can bring to the Team by film. So it is a matter of dollars and duration of contract. Bengals did this with Hudson and Gesicki. Both signed one year deals. If Fant wants the Burrow resurrection deal, he will be here. Gesicki is on a one-year $12M deal now. The question is if Fant sees a future with Bengals next year and beyond. How many NFL players take visits and leave with no contract offer in hand? I would estimate a lot so sorry they do spend money to kick the tires and work the players out. It appears he left with no contract offer in hand. A lot are offered deals, but many are not as well. To assume a player will be offered a deal everytime is a huge reach in my humble opinion. They may have with Fant or they may have said we can't meet your demands, come back if you can't find a taker. Or we may have said good visit, but need time to see if you fit the JB offense. Right now he is a after thought to Bengals thinking I would sau Eric All might be an afterthought as far as this season goes, but the idea of having a versatile "move" TE in order to effectively run 12 personnel is apparently in the forefront of the Bengals minds, as evidenced by bringing Noah Fant in for a visit. He's going to weigh his options and sign where it benefits him most. I would estimate a lot so sorry they do spend money to kick the tires and work the players out. It appears he left with no contract offer in hand. Bengals jumped ahead of other interested Teams to simply "kick the tires" and "work the player out"? Teams do not bring in players just to "kick the tires" and "work" them out, without interest in signing them. The "tire kicking" is done before the visit, usually with the player's agent. With a vet like Fant without history of serious injuries and 6 years of film, there would not be workouts either. During the visit, the player may or may not take a Medical (contracts pending physical are not uncommon). They do meet with coaches, do a facility tour, do some film and meet with some players. Then get down to discussion with the GM. If the offer makes sense, then the agent gets involved (that depends on whether the agent visits along with the player or remotely). Players who visit without their reps, get prepped with numbers in advance by their agents. In the bolded, you are assuming that he was not offered a contract, by your "no contract offer in hand" comment. If we disagree, that is fine. But a player visit is serious business. Unless there is a glaring issue such as a physical or mental/background find, numbers are discussed (low ball or not). RE: Noah Fant Visiting - Luvnit2 - 07-25-2025 I never said a player vsiting is not serious business. Of course their time and money is extremely important so they have strong interests in a player when they bring them in. This rook looks like a certified bust to me. He only has 4.5 sacks in 3 seasons at A&M. I've seen several pictures of him and he is obviously stoned in them' I'm not knocking the weed, I'm a musician fgs, but he isn't! Fant would have to be a one year, low end, prove it kind of deal, imo. DE is no doubt the elephant in the room. |
