A bunch of guys who were being shopped couldn't get moved and there were a ton of teams looking at pass rush help so it's interesting to me that the asking prices were so high. I just feel like we are wasting Burrow during the prime of his career.. FO needs to step it up with their Ma and Pa mentality. They knew how bad this defense was they should've been working it way before this to make something happen. If we could have brought in a proven vet edge rusher (who fits the 4-3) scheme, who has 3 sacks on the year for a 7th round pick, I'd have no problem with them at least taking a swing. Nobody would expect him to come in and have 6-7 sacks the rest of the year, but even an incremental improvement could be huge. The Steelers wanted to improve their 4th OLB spot and it took next to nothing to do so. Right, but again where were all these other elite defensive weapons getting moved? I would have been mad if a bunch got moved and we weren't in but it just looks like the cost of defense was too high league wide. We saw some dudes on the scrap heap get moved in White and Preston Smith, two guys who were on playoff teams getting jettisoned, but none of the names we had heard. The time to fix the defense was the off season, it's kind of misguided anger to be mad about today and more so I think to keep point back to some of the weird decisions we made in the off season. RE: Sitting on our hands as usual - BengalsLUFC - 11-05-2024 Make no mistake they did the bare minimum and Tobin should still be fired at the end of the season. Moss is out for the season Burrow would have burst a ***** blood vessel if he had to hand it off to Williams 6+ times a game. I’m so over it we knew they wouldn’t make any big moves the media will say they tried woop de ***** doo I try win the lottery every weekend. Tobin is a glorified tea maker and should have his boxes packed and be ready to **** off out of Cincinnati. Wont happen though. Gotta hoard those picks to fill out the bottom of the roster!! RE: Sitting on our hands as usual - Nicomo Cosca - 11-05-2024 Pretty disappointing absolutely nothing was done to help the defense. You have a QB playing like an MVP, a WR who was leading the league in yards and TD’s until this past week, the leader in sacks, and yet are still 4-5 and can’t be bothered to give up a day 3 pick to help these guys out. The same defensive linemen were available for signing in the off season. Shoot we couldn't even sign our own DT. Granted we signed Rankins, but he was supposed to be an addition not a replacement for a nose tackle. When you superimpose that on their failure to sign the core of our team it is just demoralizing. We've already lost one QB to this. We have a franchise QB and we're farting around. And with the core players we kick the can down the rode till we absolutely can't afford them any more. You look at the contenders and they were busy before and during the season. No standing pat and waiting for success to find them. To expect the FO to get a game changer at this time was a long shot. The real work needs to be done in March and April. No big deal. RE: Sitting on our hands as usual - NotBigzo - 11-05-2024 DOn't worry guys. The Bengals will make the most out of theri draft picks and hit it out the the park next draft. Just like they did with Myles Murp Just like they did with Dax Just like they did with Burt... Just like they did with Zach Cart.. Trayveon Williams has a career 5.0 YPC on 62 attempts. Zack Moss is a career 4.2 YPC with 3.3 in Cincy this year. Let's not act like Moss is head and shoulders a better rusher. Pass catcher/blocker maybe, but Trayveon Williams has done solid in his limited attempts.
