Sitting on our hands as usual
#1
As the Chiefs, the Bills and the Ravens all make trades to make their already great teams even better what do we do as we are on the verge of a team collapse? Absolute nothing. This is what makes it hard to root for this team. They don’t even try. Their drafting has been awful so why act like these 2nd-7th round picks are gold? It’s pathetic. Mike Brown is a pathetic human being. I hope fans stop renewing season tickets. They don’t deserve us.

Amen man.

It’s felt extra crappy this year too.

Not just our record; but the season as a whole and all of the elements exposed in every facet of leadership from the owner down the lackluster coaches.

Love most of the players but this franchise overall is a horribly ran pathetic embarrassing joke.

I mean we are 3-5 would you make a trade? I'm not so sure I'd be ready to go all-in on this team.

Yes I could get behind a trade that would make us better the following season but our Front office isn't that smart.

End of day the Bengals have made 2 in-season trades in 50+ years the odds aren't in our favor.

Making a trade isn't necessarily the same as going all in. For example if we could trade for another pass rusher off the edge for a relatively low price ESPECIALLY if they already are under contract it both helps us now and puts us ahead of the game for next season.

The deadline isn't until 4 PM Tuesday, so maybe they'll still surprise us and make a move.

I agree. It's not like we have a chance this year. We would have to win out. 1 guy is not going to fix the problem. However, I do understand the disappointment in doing nothing. This organization boils me sometimes. I wish the Brown family would just sell this team to someone who would keep it here. Someone who wants to win. Paul Brown would be sick knowing this franchise is not going ALL-IN to win every year.

So let's go there. PB, after passing, had a stadium named after him and the team ran by his siblings. They used the team as an investment only and are still doing so. They don't have the spirit of PB. Spoiled friggen kids who only wanted the money, not the victory. If these idiots would only realize that the richest teams in the league are those who try to win, it would be amazing. I mean, I almost bought into the Katie taking over the team and things would be different, until I heard the interview with Andrew Whitworth and he said how Katie and Troy was against bringing him back. MB wanted him. He played 1 more year and was done.

Troy and Katie are trash for this team. The daughters have done special things for us, but it's all eye and ear candy to keep us entertained. I'm sure when they take it over, it will be more of the same.

Being a Bengals fan is hard. I could sure use some C.J. Uzomah to cheer me up right now. Hellova cheerleader.

The issue with this roster is we have a bunch of good, not great players under contract. As far as great players on the team, I’ll go 3.5 burrow, chase, Hendrickson, Higgins (when healthy (.5))).

Outside of them, we have some paid good players, but not difference makers. Hill, rankins, OBJ, and others. These good players do NOT account for game planning or double teaming, they don’t make the players better around them. More impact players will have a bigger effect on the overall team. If we had a dominant DT, instead of rankins and hill, our IDL would be significantly better. Instead we have two decent DTs as starters that may win sometimes.

Bengals FO have maybe made inquiries about Giants rotational pass rusher Azeez Ojilairi.

Quote: It’s a poorly kept secret that the New York Giants, sitting in last place in the NFC East, are shopping young edge rusher Azeez Ojulari. Teams that are keeping an eye on the 24-year-old include the Falcons, Cardinals and Bengals. The Giants are already paying Brian Burns and spent a top-five pick on Kayvon Thibodeaux, so with Ojulari set to hit free agency after the season, GM Joe Schoen is trying to get something in return for him now.

Evidently the Bengals are making calls.... I think Sundays game will be the decision maker.

I hope they are still open to selling if the team does lose... it's okay Duke to make your future rosters better.

Just plain nuts …

“ November 1, 1972. That was the last time the Cincinnati Bengals made a mid-season trade. The Bengals picked up wide receiver Charlie Joiner and linebacker Ron Pritchard from the Houston Oilers in exchange for running backs Paul Robinson and Fred Willis”

A trade and sign on Ojulari would do wonders. It would get an offseason priority addressed with a player who is already good and on the right trajectory.

Duke really loves his cornerbacks

Ojulari just turned 24 in June.

I’m down.

The team feels OLD

So blaming the current staff for crap that happened before they were alive is kind of lame.

I’d say a second pass rusher is far more vital

Technically, we "acquired" BJ Finney (who played 2 snaps on ST for us that season before getting released) in the Carlos Dunlap trade even though realistically it was just to make the money in Dunlap's contract work.

I think we win Sunday, if not I would be on the phone with TB and trade Tee for their 1st round pick.

If we win, we are still at most 2 games back from the WC so hopefully they will make a big move (1% chance) before the deadline.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.
