I am glad they abandoned the 3-peat glorification narrative. The NFL would have tanked afterwards as you surmise.

Makes sense. Was getting sick of the Swifty Quiefs love fest. Was nice seeing them Eagles beat them down. That was some great Defense
displayed by the Eagles and I hope Golden and our Defense takes notes. That is the way.

The FO also needs to take notes regarding the fact that KC could not protect Mahomes.   They had to put Thuney outside, where he was overmatched.  KC was destroyed on the edges last night, and there was a deficit in the middle too because their top notch guard was playing on the edge.

Lesson is:   You have to have a complete, quality OL with depth to face a defense like that.

I know we need to upgrade our defense - big time.   But KC lost because they could not protect their franchise.   That is priority # 1.    Everything else comes after that.

They added Becton at guard (new position for him) and he solidified the OL that was already very good.

We have begging, hoping and praying our FO would focus first on the trenches, then on skilled positions. The Eagles went from almost worst defense in NFL to best defense in the NFL in one year. That gives me hope if our FO focuses on free agency first, then compliments FA with a great draft, we have one of the best QB's in the NFL so give him time to throw and a running game, we will compete with anyone.

Interesting note, the Bengals have the 4th most early money placed on them to win the 2025 Super Bowl.

Not finding that but did this

Nice observations 3wt. I agree, protect Joe Burrow has to be our #1 priority. It is nice that we have some good Tackles but we need a couple
good Guards to put us over the top to compete with a team like the Eagles. We hung with them for the first half when we played them because
of spectacular play from Joe, but it caught up with us and it shown who the real Champ was going to be IMO.

When we played the Eagles, I could see this coming. That team is built the right way, from the trenches out.

That Philly DL was definitely motivated and on a mission last night.

Smith got exposed in the playoffs this year, with PFF grades of 47.3, 49.5, and 54.9 in KC's three games.

Makes me a little iffy on adding him honestly. Liking Will Fries more and more for us in FA.

I didn’t watch. I was busy playing Dead Island 2 on the PS5, drop kicking zombies and enjoying adult herbs. I didn’t want my home adding to the NFLs viewing ratings (yeah I know, go ahead and reply with something snarky as to what I missed or tell me that I’m being petty. When I say I’m gonna do or NOT do something, I stick to my word). But I sure was glad to wake up this morning and see what happened. And how it happened. And to who it happened TO.

Now, let’s fix the defense, upgrade the interior trenches, and make sure that was the last time KC represents the AFC in the SB!

Eagles
Josh Sweat  LB 2018 / round: 4 / pick: 130  --- 2.5 Sacks / 2 TFLs
Milton Williams DT 2021 / round: 3 / pick: 73 --- 2 Sacks / 2 TFLs
Jalyx Hunt LB 2024 / round: 3 / pick: 94 --- .5 sacks

KC
Drue Tranqull LB 2019 / round: 4 / pick: 130 -- 1 Sack / 2 TFLs

All the Bengals need is a scouting department to find them.  lol.

I was unaware of those grades, thanks for putting them out there. Those numbers look rather Cappa/Volson like..

I planned on not watching, but then my wife won tickets to a Super Bowl party at a local establishment.
Hard to turn down free food, with a chance to win cash (we ended up winning $50) so, we went.

I'm so glad I watched Mahomes get DESTROYED and HUMILIATED.  I hope his ego and game never recover.

In the past 20 years, there have been three blowouts in SB. Chiefs own two of those losses.

BTW, I know I don't have to say this, but last night's game was not a 40-22 outcome.

The scoreboard does not tell the truth of the absolute domination.

I must be off the pop culture loop, because 9.9 out of 10 times I hear about Taylor Swift it's because someone is complaining they are sick of seeing her or hearing about her.  I only recently learned I was wrong in assuming her big hit song was "Let It Go."

Anyways, in her defense she looked upset the Chiefs lost...I feel like it would have been a more easily criticized look if she had been in the box yucking it up because she doesn't need to care about football like us nobodies because she's rich and living it up, or something.

You must not turn the TV on much. Non stop Taylor Swift love has been going on for years and it is just my opinion but her music sucks
but I don't like anything pop so there yah go. Agree that at least she looked like she gave a damn about her boyfriend's team losing, but
just watch and see she dumps ole Travis soon now that the winning bandwagon train might be over...

Where do you even hear her?  I listen to music I own or the 70s rock station or sports talk radio. I've seen her in a few commercials for some credit card I think.

Maybe I should be writing self help books about completely avoiding her, because everyone else acts like being bombarded with Taylor Swift love is as inevitable as death and taxes.

My wife doesn't listen to her and I don't have kids, so maybe that's the secret, I legitimately don't know how regular people can't avoid her but I can.
