Noah Fant Visiting - Bengalbug - 07-24-2025 Former first round pick, 27 years old. Good receiver, not great blocker. Seems like a similar TE to Mike G. That said, I’m all for bringing in a proven productive player to camp. RE: Noah Fant Visiting - bfine32 - 07-24-2025 Why not? RE: Noah Fant Visiting - CloeHokie - 07-24-2025 Can he play OG? Lmao RE: Noah Fant Visiting - psychdoctor - 07-24-2025 this is worth a look, the TE room needs more I feel. Ive always beena fan of this dude and we did need a more complete TE to pair with MG ...but kind of weird timing. IDK but....Is this just a distraction from the obvious issues signing Trey and SS? RE: Noah Fant Visiting - NotBigzo - 07-24-2025 I don't see the Browns fronting a lot of money for the guy and if he has a market, we probably don't win a bidding war. But still, I don't see this as a priority signing. We have a QB, two receivers, and a pass catching TE. Our pass attack is the last thing we should be looking to fortify. But if the Bengals aren't going to do shit else about the defense they might as well. RE: Noah Fant Visiting - Bengalion - 07-24-2025 He wasn't very good last year. He's still young, but It's not like it's his 3rd year in the league. He's been around for 6 years and he's always just... serviceable and that's ok. He doesn't need to be amazing, he needs to move the sticks and block. Anything else outside of that is a bonus. RE: Noah Fant Visiting - Au165 - 07-24-2025 Fant was 18th in yards last year while being 22nd in targets. He was actually pretty efficient with the opportunities he got, his yards per reception was 12th in the league on TE's with at least 40 receptions. With the situation he was in, all things considered, he was pretty good last year and gives us a viable option in 12 personnel now if we choose to go that route. Gotta look at opportunity share, not just final season stats. He produced, at a similar level to Mike G. Twice he has had 90+ targets and each year caught 60+ and had 670 yards. That would have been good for top 10 in yards by TE last year, the year before, the year before and he was tight end 10 in 2021. Long story short, he is a good NfL player, but not a superstar. I don't disagree 100%. Only thing I would say he sure was paid a lot of money his 2nd contract for being servicable. Was he cut due to his over 10 million a year salary for 2025? Maybe he is just not worth his contract as he was very high paid for his production. Mike runs straight line routes and uses his length and hands to win as a receiver. Noah Fant does it on screens and using his short area quickness to break off option routes. Fant is closer to Hayden Hurst than Gesicki. RE: Noah Fant Visiting - ochocincos - 07-24-2025 I like Noah Fant. Dude has averaged 591 yards a season in his 6-year career. He's more of a true TE than Gesicki, and Fant would allow the team to run more 12-personnel. Fant also, IMO, is an upgrade to the passing game vs having Iosivas in the game as WR3. Sign Fant, then they only need to see how Ford, Patrick, and Fairchild are coming along in a few weeks through preseason to get an idea if they need to get another OG or not. If they can get Fant and the IOL play can be improved, it really should then be all on the defense at that point whether the season will be successful (deep playoff run). Not much more the offense could do from a player quality standpoint. This would also be the best weapons Burrow has had in Cincy, arguably. RE: Noah Fant Visiting - bfine32 - 07-24-2025 Fun fact: Denver selected Noah Fant with the #20 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. They originally had the #10 and traded back w/ PITT who leapfrogged the Bengals to take Devin Bush, the took Jonah Williams with the next pick in the draft. The trade also gave Den the #52 pick in that draft, who they then traded that pick and picks 125 and 182 to the Cincinnati Bengals to move up to pick 42. Denver took Drew Locke with #42 Cincy took: 52: Drew Sample 125: Ranell Wren 182: Trayveon Williams RE: Noah Fant Visiting - FormerlyBengalRugby - 07-24-2025 Makes the TE room better and gives Burrow another big body to target, and does not break the bank. I am in favor of seeing him inked to a one year "prove it" deal. Who could hate seeing move big bodies out there giving Joe tons of options. RE: Noah Fant Visiting - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 07-24-2025 Good move, always liked Noah Fant. He offers something a bit different than the rest of our TE's. RE: Noah Fant Visiting - TheLeonardLeap - 07-24-2025 I didn't know he was a FA. Absolutely should add him as he's just a quality player, and I don't trust any WR on our team after the first 2 (and that's assuming Tee stays healthy). Will gladly take sets of Chase, Tee, Gesicki, Fant, Brown as our base. RE: Noah Fant Visiting - Luvnit2 - 07-24-2025 (07-24-2025, 12:20 PM)TheLeonardLeap Wrote: I didn't know he was a FA. I’m sure it would just be a one year deal which is beneficial to both sides. This does fit the Bengals’ philosophy - don’t worry too much about the D or IOl. Just keep gathering weapons and out score ‘em! |
