It's also why when the media bashes them for hires and draft picks, it is well earned. When they start winning and doing things differently the stigma will go away but until that time they have done nothing to get the benefit of the doubt.

That means his scouting people, his family and friends program for hiring and drafting who he wants when he wants. Those are fair points. Hell, if he had Paul's football intelligence, it might even work. Unfortunately...well, no point in rehashing the last 30 years.

Eh, it depends on the reason.
If Jonah and Reilly play solid for 16 games and whoever is playing guard puts in a decent performance, but we lose more than half our games... then Zac needs to go. If Jonah spends half the season on IR, and Reilly looks like a journeyman, and we have bad guard play, but we lose more than half our games... then Zac needs to go if it was his plan to avoid drafting better tackle prospects in the 2021 draft. If this was a Tobin/Brown decision to get a big play receiver and patch up the OL with spare parts, then that's not a ZT problem, just like it wasn't a Marvin Lewis problem.

MB sux and absolutely holds the franchise back.
Call me crazy but still think the Bengals will be a 6-9 win team this season and on the upswing. The water tastes funny when you're far from your home, yet it's only the thirsty that hunger to roam. Roam the Jungle !

Home
Baltimore Ravens- 0-1 Cleveland Browns- 0-2 Green Bay Packers- 0-3 Jacksonville Jaguars 1-3 Kansas City Chiefs 1-4 Los Angeles Chargers 1-5 Minnesota Vikings 2-5 Pittsburgh Steelers 3-5 AWAY Baltimore Ravens 3-6 Chicago Bears 4-6 Cleveland Browns 4-7 Denver Broncos 5-7 Detroit Lions 6-7 Las Vegas Raiders 6-8 New York Jets 7-8 Pittsburgh Steelers 7-9 San Fran 8-9 I see 7 to possible 9 wins if Burrow stays healthy, line plays ok and Chase performs, I will be disappointed in Burrow if we can;t win at least 6 games and possible ZT on his way out the door.

If Taylor continues to flop this season, then the team needs to move on unless the FO wants to continue to say "F you, you wanted this" to the fan base. If we move on from Taylor, then I fully expect Joe Brady to be #1 target to help recreate the 2019 LSU team.

Being a Bengals homer is exhausting because you have to hate the national media for disrespecting us while simultaneously saying that our team has been such a joke for years that it is understandable our HC can only win 6 games in 2 years.

Until the organization breaks down and develops a true front office, multiple scouts for area's in the US, analytics specialist, ect this organization is just looked at differently whether we like it or not. That perception changes when they're winning but when they're losing its really easy to poke fun at the organization because they look cheap, inexperienced, limited, amongst many other things when compared to other teams in the NFL. Maybe Katie and Troy will change that once Mike's in the ground, but I'm not going to count on it because Mike learned to run the team from Paul and I'm sure Katie is learning to run the team from Mike, cheap and limited.

However, here's a subject no one has talked about that i've seen. Do you truly believe that Joe Burrow is going to come back Game 1 and be Joe Burrow of 2020? Do you think Joe Burrow is going to be the Joe Burrow of 2020 in Game 6 or 7? How many games does it take him to get acclimated back to the NFL game? To get confident in his knee? How long does it take for this offensive line to mesh together considering there's going to be multiple new parts? However, the biggest question is Joe Burrow.

so much can happen to us for us or to each team we face that its impossible to predict... But if we are picking anywhere near top 5 and it isnt cause we traded away a player... then i doubt we would have to worry about Zach.. we might have to worry about losing the Interim HC though

I just don't see Zac and staff improving to an 7 or 8 win season, the home schedule looks tough. Also, an win 8 season is a losing record starting this upcoming season.

I agree but at the same time they won 11 games last year and did a lot of off season reinforcing. I won't crown em but they are going about things in what at least appears to be the right manner. I want to count them as 2 wins against the Steelers, at least.

Say what you want, but Pat Mac is great. He was absolutely spot on about this organization. As a fan it's hard to hear, but it's not like we don't know these things to be true.
The front office is composed mostly of family and friends of the family. None have proven to be capable of sustained winning especially outside of the regular season. The owner still draws a paycheck for the title of GM regardless if the work is done by Tobin under a different title or not. The owner still meddles in team decisions even with a shitastic 3 decade+ track record of his own doing. We're the only team north of Atlanta without an indoor practice facility. We also have the smallest scouting department in the NFL. Instead of listening to scouts or reviewing what they have to say, the coaches have to pound the pavement to scout and we rely on information packets given to every team because our coaches can't possibly do of all the scouting plus their regular duties. I don't see the need to continue on. The Bengals slapped a couple of band aids on the OL this year and everyone is eating it up. Even if we drafted Sewell the line wasn't upgraded enough. Our starters may be average or even slightly above, but once injuries hit and we have to go to our depth its straight garbage. The 1 tackle we did draft is a project player expected to take 1-2 years to be ready. My optimistic prediction would be 6 wins. I hope to be wrong and this team is close to .500. I'll happily eat crow if they do better. I expect 3-4 wins with 6 being the maximum though.
