Crazy Stats and Quotes Thread

I also think he will keep us relevant so in that sense our window is going to be open. But without a solid defense is he just outscoring the likes of Mahommes and Allen? I think what really worries me is I think secondaries are one of the toughest units to get right. I think Bates and Bell make a really good safety unit which helps our defense greatly and I fear that this may be the last year we see both of them on the field together.

Also on a side note. Reader is a beast and what Burrow does for offense he may do for the defense. Goodberry had some clips of him on his show this week and his play on that fumble against the Patriots was in insane. I know Bell knocked the ball out and Hill recovered but that play revolved around him.

I've heard alot about forward progress on that play but the refs were right to not blow the whistle. DJ Reader was pushing the RB backwards but did so with only his shoulder he never got his hands on the ball carrier so there is no tackle happening lol.

I mean watching the play in Slow motion I could see the argument for blowing the whistle. But watching it in real time I thought he may bounce out of it the way the play looked. I'm sure they were about to blow the whistle but they've been letting plays go all year all across the league so it must be a point on emphasis to not blow plays dead to early.

While I agree with this in theory, I don't think he really has time most snaps.

True, and how pissed would we have been if they blew Perine dead a couple of weeks ago?

Mitchell Wilcox? How about 17 receptions on 18 targets.

Our TEs are always check downs/in the flat. Especially Wilcox/Sample/Asiasi. Cannot compare to a WR. Apples & oranges. Though I agree Thomas did not offer much as a receiver and Wilcox at least catches everything thrown his way.

Their #2 TEs are always check downs, not whoever is in the role of the #1 TE. They'll be part of the regular downfield passing most of the time. Hurst is #5 in targets with 68, just behind Mixon's 70 targets, so he'll be a check down on some routes but most of the time he's out in a route downfield.

Sample 2 catches for -1 yard -0.5 per catch
Asiasi 2 catches for 5 yards 2.5 per catch

Hurst 48 catches for 400 yards 8.3 avg
Wilcox 17 catches for 139 yards 8.2 avg

As a Bengals fan, I don't know if I've ever been able to post numbers like these next ones in my entire life
Bengals passing yards 4,305
Opponents passing yards 3,389
And that's with Awuzie missing most of the season. Lou is a legend.

Guys like Kyler Murray and Ryan Tannehill make rosters WORSE. So of course their windows were super small. Burrow is SMART and can make every throw as if it’s easy. No matter who we have on offense i think Burrow will get points outta them as long as we block for him. The only thing even the great Joe Burrow can’t overcome is pressure getting to him instantly.

Yep.  Look no further than the recent performance of guys like Trenton Irwin and Mitchell Wilcox.  UDFAs, but with Burrow, playing very, very well.

True, and always taking such a short drop also kind of negates the pump fake. Need to change something up with the pass deflections.

I am sure Zac and Burrow are very aware of this one weakness at this time.

For sure, it is very refreshing.

This is a QB that can push the entire roster to work their hardest and play their best to become the best.

Chase needs 96 yards against the Ravens to move into #2 in post season receiving yards for a players first 2 years, ahead of Randy Moss.

He's 275 yards behind Charlie Brown at #1.

So that Charlie Brown knew how to play football eh? Ninja

The home team has won the last 5 WC games where the teams also played the week before.

Also, home teams in the WC round who are favored by 8 or more are 16-1 since 1997.

That should be the target.  He COULD get that before the Super Bowl, and then beat it against....SF?

I'd like to see him get it against the 2nd round opponent. Big Grin

Third round for me....can't stand KC, State Farm (who spends hundreds of millions on ads and does crap for customers), the NFL bias, and I'm sick of the love for Mush Mouth.  He played a sissy schedule and the only good win was a beat up SF team that was struggling.  Don't hate them like steelers or rats, but just sick of them.

I don't care about Mahomes. What i'm saying is, if he gets it by the 2nd round game, that means he averaged about 138 per game to do it.  Wink

Good point.  I just look at it like:  GET BACK TO THE BIG GAME AND WIN IT NO MATTER WHAT.  How that plays out stat-wise, I won't know, but I would imagine he would crush it.  Kind of makes up for his lost 5 games during the season.
