Why do folks hate hearing the truth? Why?  Besides I wasn't talking to you anyway. When I want your input I'll ask for it.

I disagree. Matt Lee shined. Meta looks like a potential find. Both rookie TE’s have flashed. Newton had a nice INT. Cedric Johnson and Kris Jenkins both had sacks, etc.

No, I'm talking about the Bengals O WITH Burrow like from last year. We have trouble running the ball and rely way too much on Burrow and the pass game. That makes them a 1 dimensional offense. Other teams see this and don't worry about our weak run game and therefore stampede JB and blanket and double our receivers. That's what I mean when I say other teams don't fear our offense and I think that is pretty accurate.

Hopefully they shock me by coming out of the gate slinging it like the greatest show on turf (part 2) they should be.

However I am just not feeeeeling it.

We have a new RB, a new RT, and a new OC. Can we maybe wait and see what the running game actually looks like before writing it off?

Why would we do that? It's much better to piss and moan.

The bengals had the most productive offense against the 49ers all season last year. That 4 game sample size with healthy burrow and was awesome. 70%+ completion, around 300 YPG passing, 9-2 TD/int ratio. Looking at around a 5000 yard season, lead league in tds.

Mixon added 3 tds on the ground.

From a PPG basis that comes out To just around 25 PPG, a little less. Would have been good for 7th best overall.

Long story short, it was a bad year all around from the word go. Injuries derailed the season in July.

New year, different outcome.

But i would bet money we are man-blitzed less than 7 times ALL SEASON when Chase and Burton are on the field together. I just can’t think of any team ballsy enough to run a zero with them out there.

Burton may help the sack numbers just by existing while Jamarr Chase is on the field. I never thought about that. I wonder how many times Randy Moss’s teams got blitzed in comparison to other teams of that era

Zero Burrow and he will make you pay.....

So what you're saying is you didn't watch any of the games. Because if you did, you would know how wrong that statement is.

Not to mention Njongmeta is all over the field and can really lay the wood.

By my count Burrow and the starting offense, Mims, All, Burton, Irwin, Jones, Yoshi, Jenkins, Murphy, Dax, Cedric Johnson Battle all showed good

I know it’s popular to act like Burton is the only guy that did something great but he’s not.

I mean Erik All played so well he may have shook up our TE room

Just like RegularGuy not knowing how message boards work, you don't seem to understand how to be a fan of the Bengals. Ninja

Guys that I noticed watching the 1st half of the 2nd game and most of last night's game:
- Burton may end up becoming the WR3 at some point this season. I think they're gonna give Iosivas that opportunity first though. But Burton proved he can make an impact.
- Matt Lee will definitely make the team, maybe even become C2. Potential future starter after Karras' contract is up?
- Trayveon Williams showed he deserves some snaps this season. Dude was about the only true bright spot in the running game. I honestly don't think there was another backup RB worthy of making the roster though.
- The TE roster battle will be fun to watch. Honestly, all 5 deserve to be on a 53. I'd roll with 3 RBs, 5 TEs with 1-2 RBs ready on the PS to call up if an injury occurs.
- Dax Hill I think will be the starting outside CB opposite CTB. He has shown enough for me this preseason.
- Meta might make it as the 5th LB, despite some of his athletic limitations.
- With the injury to Cam Sample, I think Cedric Johnson gets the last DE spot - Hendrickson, Hubbard, Murphy, Ossai, Johnson.
- I think they'll keep 5 DTs - Hill, Rankins, Jenkins, Carter, Jackson.
- Carman gets cut.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!
